hi,
can anyone reccomend a decent WARM pair of gloves?
they would have to be reasonably priced, say under £50.
i have a couple of pairs already, leather ones - not quite warm enuff & water gets thru, leather/textile mix with kevlar padding - look cool but still not warm enuff- even with "thermal" liners, & i also have lightweight gloves for the "summer".
yesterday on the way to work my hands were freezing!
it got so cold that my fingertips went numb then got extremely painfull!
as its only gonna get colder, i would really like a good pair of waterproof, warm gloves!
any ideas?
cheers,
GAZ

HG do some lobsters, buy big and wear a pair of HG thermals under them.
Cost about £50 for both I think.

Whatever you get, as mentioned, inner gloves make a big difference.

Try wearing microfleece inner gloves, I got some made by trek mates, and combined with lobster gloves, I dont really feel the cold on my hands. Just need to stop forgetting to take them with me to work Confused

Hein Gericke Panthan 5 figners are only 35 quid, coupled with some knox cold killers or gore-tex windstoppers, they'll be another 9-15 quid. You'll have the warmest setup this side of being in a car. Heated grips have no effect as i have found out since the layering is so thick that you'll just be draining your current on heating the grips.

I'd definitely recommend getting another pair of inner gloves to wear underneath. I have a pair of silk gloves from an outdoors shop, they were about £10.

Because they're silk they wick away the moisture so you don't get sweaty palms, they're lovely and thin so are really comfortable plus incredibly warm. A good way to make your existing gloves twice as toasty Thumbs Up

EDIT: Just found some for £6.99 from Taunton Leisure You'd probably fit these under a pair of micro-fleece gloves too.

Went to buy some HG 5-finger Panthans and couldn't remember their name when I got in the shop. Went by looks and accidentally bought a pair of Naganos. Cheaper and still bloody comfy/warm.

I need some new warmer gloves, my problem is i can't ware the big heavy winter ones (of which I have some)

have limited dexterity in my left hand and with thicker gloves on I cant move the hand at all so only ware summer weight which are freezing now.

So if anyone knows of any super warm light weight gloves please let me know.

Got myself a pair of 3-finger Pathans a month or so ago, very good glove.

Hands still get a bit cold after 2 and a half hours on the bike, mainly because my left index finger pushes up against the seam in the end of the finger -_-

As they are winter gloves, they are a bit bulkier than "usual", so having 3 fingers reduces some of that bulk, whilst keeping your fingers warmer than a 5-fingered glove.

Got mine for £19.99 on sale at HG! Very Happy
