I'm not ashamed to say it, I adore my bike.

It may have scuffs, it may not be the lightest or quickest thing out there. But I am genuinely proud of it.
When someone asks me what I ride, I'm proud to tell them, just like I'd be proud of saying Cameron Diaz is my girlfriend.

So what about you guys? Is it just a form of transport? Is it a step-on-the-route to a bigger bike?

When I fit my new fairings, I can believe I will keep this bike forever. On the road until I get something newer, and on the track after that.

I don't "love" mine but I love riding it. I will "love" my next bike though hopefully Smile . This was just cheap and in the right place at the right time for my restricted license.

I loved my old GSXR400 (get well soon, see other thread), and I love my mille, never really "loved" the hornet, it was a hoot to ride though.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, take riding out of it. Do you love looking at your bike? Love knowing you own it, love telling people about it?

I must say a GPZ is fun to ride, but I'd find it difficult to 'love'.

I definately do, my rational head tells me it's an unreliable, rusting dangerous machine that gets me to and from work that could be quicker and handle better if i spent even more money on it.

But I love it, I look at it and smile and when someone says is that your bike outside i'm always happy to say oh yeah thats my baby Thumbs Up

I would say I 'love' my bike, however I wouldn't say I love it in the same context for example as I do my partner. A bike is an item and it's one of the most valuable items I own (and I do not mean monetary value) however it's not really a match for human interaction... (just my opinion) Smile

What is love?

My NC30 may fit the bill, but I look upon it at too much of a critical eye. I couldn't imagine analysing the future Mrs CS23 that the second toe from the right on her right hand side foot has some imperfections in the way the clear varnish has been applied and must be amended when I get the chance the following weekend, hypothetically speaking of course.

The Hornet? Not a chance, feels like the village bicycle - I've been handing out the keys to friends recently in the hope that they could reassure me that the thing offers "a fun ride".

I didn't really treat mine as well i should have & i didn't find her that attractive, but looking back at her now & she's stunning.
Didn't break down on me once.
It's alot of bike for what they sell for & i miss her. Maybe next year i'll get another.

Yes I love my bike, and am ever so proud of the work I have put in to it.
I'm not joking if any one damaged my bike I would kill them. Shifty

I love your bike too jamie, it's rather nice. Wanted one of those sorts of bike recently.

I love my bike in some ways, although it is old, rusty and a bit battered. I've loved working on it though and i'm gonna miss it when I get a hornet.

Here's a pic of someone else's bandit 4 apart, it's exactly the same apart from mine hasn't got a bellypan or grabrail.

Dont "love" my SZR. Its a good handling bike, erm, interesting styling and the XT engine gives it loads of character, but it doesnt quite "do it" for me. Not in the way other bikes I've had do at least Razz

I love my S4 I can't wait to get her back, I do not believe there is a bike out there that handles better.

I don't love my ZX6R so to speak. It was merely the cheapest bike i could find for the best value at that time (1300 quid for a bike that's only had 21k miles, new tyres, C&S, race can, oxford touring kit) all of which would have added to the cost by some considerable amount. It's a stop gap for the time being until i pluck up the sense to get a car and get a smaller bike for the weekend. Its a do anything sort of bike.

Now, i DID love my ZXR250. Screams everywhere, going around the outside of 600cc commuters, even a TL thou. High corner speeds and not so rapid acceleration. Made you work for it, but on most days, i was more than able to mix it with the 600 boys at uni (and they WERE quick). It was very forgiving. I wish i could have her as well as my 6, but it became too unreliable and difficult to procure parts for. Pics are on my sig.

https://w2.bikepics.com/pics/2006%5C12%5C14%5Cbikepics-746735-full.jpg

I loved my bike, such an unrealised little gem. When i had it taken for the MOT, my mechanic, mark at Twiggers in Lufbra, went on a bit of a joyride on it and said it had the most exciting handling and power deliver of any sports bike he's ridden in some time. Shame i couldn't find parts to keep it going. Not as fast as 400 but bloody good fun at 145kg!
