Took my advanced driving test today with the view to becoming a driving instructor.

and he failed me on going through a traffic light when it was safe to stop.

Maybe if he wanted his face embedding in the windscreen it was safe to stop.

One of them things, nothing else was a problem, just that one thing, i knew he had failed me for it when i saw the sheet, so the rest of the test was a "well fuck it" time, and i still only got 3 minors.

Just wanted a rant.
Examiner was a top bloke, was at ease, didnt feel the pressure or anything like that, just the traffic lights that were against me. May go and pull down those traffic lights later mind. Smile

2 more chances at it then it is change of career time, no pressure or anything. Confused

So what you're ranting about is that you went through an amber / red light without stopping ?

Surely if you're doing an advanced test you should have been ready to stop coming up to the lights rather than having to do an emergency stop / run the lights ?

I hate traffic lights. Amber means go for me. Laughing

Though I nearly came unstuck two weeks ago when I almost forgot there was a traffic light camera on one of the junctions.

I know it's wrong but I HATE stopping at traffic lights. Crying or Very sad

on a 50 limit road, i had slowed down to below 40, remember if u go too slow they pull u up for "not making progress"

I was, what i deemed, too close to the lights to stop, so i continued through them.
Could i have physically stopped?
Probably
Damp road, few leaves around
Was it safe to stop?
Apparently so Rolling Eyes

Is just one of them things, sh!t happens, and it has happened to cost me a 90 quid re-test fee.
Which is what pees me off more, as xmas coming up, 1 more pay day before it, road tax for the car end of this month, 4 new tires yesterday...
May be jan before i can afford to book it. Sad
so will be Feb before i take it again

Oh man, that's the problem with those tests... common sense can't prevail. What a load of toss. My sister-in-law got failed on her first instructors' test for not using the cruise-control. What a bunch of old fuck-wits, I know exactly the sort they are, too. I bet they are really pleased with themselves when they fail someone, "Well, he was clearly not as good as me". Bullshit.

Good luck with the next test, hope it goes well. Then you start taking the apparatus down from the inside.

When I took mine I passed first time with one minor. That was for ECO friendly driving.
Better luck next time.
just wait for the shite that comes with your part three test. Now that IS a load of toss.
