well on saturday i had a litlle misshap whilst filtering on my gsxr400 which they have now picked up to see if its a write off.

heres what it looked like when i first got it.

https://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb146/21chappers/gsxr400.jpg

and heres what the damage is on it now after hitting a car at 10 mph

was a great bike to ride and even on 33bhp managed 110mph on the clocks.

will now have to wait to see what happens with it.

got myself a restricted er-5 as a hire bike for now

Was that Big_Ham's/Chris' bike by any chance? I think if the forks or frame are bent, then it's written off. But they will also write it off economically if it costs too much to replace parts. Still, you can always enjoy the bike sans plastic. Also makes it a bit more fun because you don't have the plastics to worry about and you have improved vision. In the end, having no plastics doesn't make it much less of a bike? Anyway chin up, least you had your first spill and hopefully only spill out of the way.

:Edit, it was pretty dark in the office and didn't pay too much attention to the front wheel! Such a shame:

Was it your fault?

90% sure that's a write off. New front wheel, rear panel, headlight stay, most likely headlight and top fairing.

Way more than the £1500? that's worth.

Unlucky mate. Hope it wasn't your fault and you can buy a nice 600 to replace it.

Is that true that if the forks are bent, then it`s a write off?

I wouldn`t have thought a set of re-claimed forks could be all that much.

Maybe i`m wrong though..

Crying or Very sad

That was an awesome lil bike. One of those things though. If you want to get it doing again Skidmarx still do road plastics for it, not sure how good they are though.

RF13041011 GSXR400 (GK76A) Std. Top Fairing 100.00
RF13041021/1031 GSXR400 (GK76A) Centre Panels (each) 52.95
RF13041061 GSXR400 (GK76A) Belly Pan 76.50
RF13041101 GSXR400 (GK76A) Std. Full Fairing 250.00
RF13041211 GSXR400 (GK76A) Single Road Seat Unit 115.00

breakers and people off the forums could probably hook you up with the other bits.

TBH new wheels + fairings maybe 500 quid all in?

If the quote for suzuki spares it'll be much more than that though.

Add on painting those skidmarx fairings, and labour for fitting, and the fitting of the wheel/parts.

I bet it goes way over the valuation.

You can get swish fairings on ebay sent over from china for a few hundred not sure how good they are but they look alright.

There are none on there ATM but I'm fairly sure I have seen this seller selling them.

https://stores.ebay.co.uk/motofairings_SUZUKI-FAIRINGS_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ11172691QQftidZ2QQtZkm

It might be worth asking a few people that have bought them what they are like.
