well, a couple of months , a shed load of money, and a few curse words later, she is near completion.

few small bits need sorting still (the engine realy needs a rebuild, but im tempted by a gti engine) wheel bearings, strut top mounts, engine mounts.

Not entirely convinced on the paint scheme to be honest and white steel wheels?

Nice to hear and see a young lad doing things properly in the mods and not just adding after market crap from Ripspeed.

Are those headlights original?

They look like they're off a 405 or something.

Smart motor you have there, I've always liked the way they're kinda 'no-nonsense rockets' with the steelies and the rallye stripes. Good to see you've preserved the best bits there, now don't do anything really silly with the engine, you'll devalue the lot if you do!

Cam it, sort the breathing out and leave it at that. Great work! Thumbs Up

Nice, but the white wheels just look like an afterthought. Nothing wrong with the style, just black would be better, IMHO.

Yeah, looks good. Just inspired me to look at some 106 GTi's but still too expensive. Laughing

Why did you not spend that 'shed load of money' on a 205GTi? They're much better and you'll get more of that money back when you come to sell it...

Absolutely fantastic, I've always loved the 106 Rallyes, the graphics, the concept and the white wheels!

Very very glad to see you haven't replaced the wheels actually for some crap alloy ones and generally chavved it up. Proper nice job on that Thumbs Up

I want a Mk2 Rallye in blue myself Very Happy

That's a very relative comment. They might be 'faster' or 'more iconic' but 'better' is just an opinion...

iirc, all the Rallye spec Peugeots came with white steel wheels on them, it was part of the 'appeal'

Palmer, when you say that it could still do with an engine rebuild, struts, engine mounts, wheel bearings etc. Do you mean that all the work has been cosmetic, rather than structural? Confused

Absolutely fucking lovely.

A 106 Rallye is an enthuisast's car, for those that appreciate the concept and the execution, rather than just the looks (although I love those too, so clean and simple).

White steelies are part of the icon. Plus the fact that steel wheels like this are much lighter than you average '£300 per set including tyres' 'alloy' pieces of shit.

Very nice indeed, I would be tempted to go the whole hog, rip the back seats out, most of interior trim, cage it, and tune it (not crazy tho). Then go out hunting for chavs in their shitboxes weighed down by stupid stereos. But hey, that's just me!

Get rid of the french plates and you'll be getting somewhere (its been done. too much. It'll just get you pulled and fined)

Don't go down the GTi route, its been done to death, and they dont compare with the character of the old school rallye lumps.

Did you put it on throttle bodies in the end?
