hi bit of a stab in the dark, but just wonderd if anybody could help.
a friend of mine has a very poorly 1.4 nissan sunny. lower down the rev range the acceleration is fine, its only when it gets to about 3000-4000 rpm that it feels like a restrictor is kicking in and there is hardly any performance.
spark plugs have been changed recently so i doubt it will be that, could it be something to do with the fuel pump, lines or injectors? or is the head gasket goosed?
any advice apretiated

Could very well be something to do with fuelling.

I doubt head gasket unless there's white smoke too.

Hi

If you think it is fuel related then first point to check would be the fuel filter (well, 2nd after checking it has fuel in it). Which probably hasn't been changed in years. Also a fuel pump on its last legs would have similar issues.

All the best

Keith
