you know what stood out most to me in that article, the guy who needed the brain surgery. rather than sue the hospital his family want better qualified and compassionate staff, how many here or in america would be baying for blood and a fat cheque

disagree totally, genuine mistakes happen whether we like it or not, none of us are infallible, there is a difference to genuine error and negligence, trouble is, people dont care though they want the money,

in this incident, while very unfortunate, the family of the dead man used the reasoning that he was probably going to die anyway, i imagine that it will be a different kettle of fish for the family of the man whos now got problems because of the damage to his brain

Whilst I agree with the not chasing compensation for compensation sake, I would definitely be taking them to the cleaners for this. The money would be needed to provide him with a comfortable life in the future! Especially if he never fully regains the feeling in his side...

actually ive been in situation where i could have , what i did was take into account the extraordinary good care that had been carried out prior to "the incident" i then went on to fight for things to be changed so it couldnt happen to anyone else and damage rectified in my case, guess who suffers in the end when we constantly sue hospitals, yeah its us the patients, like i said theres a massive difference between negligence and genuine error, its up to us to morally figure that one out, i tried to point out how much i admired the strength of the family of the man with the brain tumour in my original post, and you obviously failed to see my comment about it being a different matter for the man who been left disabled

What an absolute fuck up! I can't even laugh at that, but then again was the bloke given no indication that he was going for brain surgery? Couldn't he have realised! Weird story.
