Rise of the Footsoldier follows the inexorable rise of Carlton Leach from one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becoming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late eighties and early nineties. It is three decades of his life following him from football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer, his involvement in the criminal aspects of the early 'rave' scene and subsequently to his rise to power as one of the most feared and respected criminals in the country. The story concludes with three members of his firm being brutally murdered in the infamous shot-gun slaying at Rettenden

I watched this last night & thought it was really good, had me hooked all the way through,
If you're a fan of British hooliganism with lots or blood, guns & the 'c' word then you'll probably like this.

That clip seemed to be about the 'Rettendon Murders'.

All very good - but if you have ever seen the official police photgraphs of those murders - then the harsh relalitys of what goes on make it not so romantic.
3 of the hardest blokes in Essex - taken out very quickly and possibly by one man.

I think the movie managed to capture that.

As for the murders, anyone can shoot a gun & no one's untouchable. Something i learn from my movies. Smile
Don't know much about the murders but will probably have a read about it.
