I just can't see the reason why thay made that thing. First of all you feel like an @#$%^&nut infront of other people when you can't get the bike going or have to pull the choke up to get the engine hot. Confused

I still wonder why bikes have kill switches on. Is it so that your mates can play a joke on you when you come to start your bike and it doesnt start, or is its main purpose for backfires? Twisted Evil

Kickstarts work nicely. If yours doesn't work, your bike is dodgy. If its a 2 stroke, its probably due a rebore.

Kick starting *looks* cooler than electric start. Wouldn't swop though, love my little button.

Now what's with those primitive reserve switches...

My bike, (i don't know of yours) have a safety kit bult into the electricks that shuts the carberator if the lights is off, what the----?

The UK the law does not state that you have your light on in good visibility, a lot of advanced riders choose not to.

I've never heard anything like that before. Why not just wire the switch so the light cannot be turned off?

OK the bike is a 2 stroke and the kick starter does look nice but it is just a littel slow for me, i like speed even the time it takes to start your bike.

To Bendy: I don't get it either but my brother had the bike before me and he inserted some booysen reed valves, some piston crank and conrod kitt(cost him more than 2000) and I'm off racing a 1150 bmw touring bike into oblivion.

Oh forgot to mension that same day I fell at 235km/p.

Something tells me this person isn't from the UK.

As for the bike it's one if these,
https://mediaoverseas.com/tmo/kawasaki/serpicosst150_b.gif

I've never seen or heard of one before. Confused

Sorry - didn't know you were not from the UK, Wheelie. It seems they are hell bent on making you use your light over there, it should be up to the rider IMO.

My mistake. That serves my right for skim reading.
I'll read every post to every pixel in each letter next time. Confused

To be honest i'd rather have a kick start and an electric start to be honest. Or just a kick.
I think its more practical i guess.

And you don't have to bump start...

OR you could get a fantastic bike like mine with electric and kick start. Wink

Good for when you run the battery out trying to start it.

Same here. My starter motor went on my RS50 and I was having to bump start it everytime I wanted to use it.
Why couldn't they have made it like the RS250 with both a kick and an electric start?

And the kill switch was mentioned earlier on in the thread and I've seen very few on 50's. My Kawasaki AR50 had one and to be honest it is the only 50 i know to have one. AFAIK.

My exact point.
Although i wouldn't like to do it on Big twins in all honest,
It'd probably kick back and take my leg off...
