It truly is difficult getting the rs 125 up and i really want to do at least a small wheelie before I sell it...Even revving it like crazy and dumping the clutch it only comes up a few inches maximum...

Use speed bumps to help it up.

Looks like hes just putting his weight right at the back though. I can just about wheelie my bike off the clutch and im on a 50, can't keep it up though, about a foot, foot and a half.

Not worth trying to get good wheelies on the rs125 in my opinion.
It is possible, but it's got a lot going against it.

It's fairly high geared for the power it makes, it's not got much midrange and does weigh a bit along with having a racey riding position putting weight onto the front.

Well when I did my CBT years back one of the learners in the other group did a very big wheelie on a CG, hit the kerb as he landed and did a superman into the bushes at Rivermead leisure centre.

So it can be done, whether the bike and you will survive is another matter! I think its a case of severe clutch abuse Smile

The RS50 on standard gearing is really easy to wheelie, but even with a list of mods including an 800c bore kit and a 14 front sprocket it could be done, just no as well. so if you really want to wheelie it then changed the sprocket size (front down) then roll slowly, clutch in, rev high, clutch out and wait for your nuts to smash into the petrol tank or seat on landing.

i can wheelie my cbr
it can be done to keep it up but i dont have the skill.... well that and i dont really want to flip my shiney bike Embarassed Laughing
sit at 5000 rpm in first gear doing about 5 - 10 mph, clutch in 12000 rpm and dump the clutch up it comes just before its about to flip, keep the throttle pinned and it plops back down after about 2 seconds Laughing

when i first got itit only had an arrow exhaust. i then added the 800c bore kit, uprated crank, uprated clutch springs, 21mm carb and changed the gearing to 14-47 instead of 12-47. it's gone now, but it was easy to wheelie, clutch in until it hit about 8000 revs and the front wheel would lift loads, with all the mods except the gearing change it would even wheelie in 3rd about a foot in the air an 5000 revs. i didnt even notice but a friend told me i had done it when we stopped at the lights.

get it right at peak power and control the ammount of power going to the back wheel through the clutch. If you balance the throttle and clutch, letting the clutch out to where it still slips a tiny bit with the throttle wide open, it should come up.

I wouldn't reccomend the speedbump approach, as it adds many more variables to the mix, and destabilises the bike a lot

its all about technique with low powered bikes.. you'll find bouncing it on the rear brake and launching from a dead stop will make it a bit easier..

the french lot do amazing things on RS50's Neutral

Couldn't it in theory be easier doing a stoppie and when you come down use that momentum to bring the front up?

managed to get the front up on my rs125 ages ago. was waiting to pull out from a junction and gave it a shitload of gas with the clutch about half in and the front came up a wee bit Smile
This thread kinda makes me want to see about getting her back on the road again (when the shoulder isn't so fucked Rolling Eyes ). Bike is a good laugh when you get things right on it.

My H100 wheelies off the throttle in first. Trickle along at about 6k then pop the throttle wide and up it comes (with all 100kg of me sitting on it properly, feet on the footpegs).

It's all down to the awesomeness of its 9bhp, 98cc engine which catapults you along at speeds approaching 100mph.

You'd have to get the timing perfect, more likely to do a burnout or it all to go horribly wrong Smile.

As mentioned, a bounce (I bounce from the foot pegs generally) along with dumping the clutch as it comes up and your weight back will help.

Oh and down gearing a bit would probably make a difference too.

It's all about technique something that can be self taught in a few days, very satisfying wheelying a 125 although I never managed it properly on my old Derbi Senda 50.

Never tried it on a stroker, had my NSR too short a time to try Sad

But within a few days of having my XR, was pissing about with all me mates and accidentally wheelied onto a massive roundabout while waiting, front came up, legs flew out in a rather comic fashion, and my mate fell off his ped laughing hysterically. Actually fell off cos he couldnt stop laughing. Best time ever on my XR, that was. Bar doing 90 odd miles to Skegness, full throttle Smile

Been practising wheelying on my ZX6, its easier/harder than my XR Confused cos I have more power, so easy to whop up...but more power, so more scared of flipping it! lol

Good luck with the RS....using speedbumps? Surely when the back wheel hits the speed bump your looking at a rather harsh come back to earth...or fucked head bearings Neutral

I started wrong, but it might help you:

Set off in first, get to about 7-8K OR where your bikes powerband starts but don't change gear.

Then when it's got the revs, shut the throttle off completely for a split second then whack it open full...

At this point a little pull on the bars can seem like a resulting 6 foot rising of the front end. Laughing But will be a few inches but Hey, you gotta start somewhere.

Clutching it up is similar, get to where the power band starts and just give the clutch a lil pull, just a little blip, feel it rise then carry on blipping it longer the more confident/comfortable you get.

At least this is what I did following advice from the likes of G and if it's wrong, I apologize.... I failed your advice miserably. Embarassed Laughing
