 |
|
Hey everyone.
well today I had my first crash. Yipeee! (not really)
So going down a road in Highgate (london) and I realised I had gone too far down this road so I needed to turn around I came up to a 'mini' roundabout and put my right indicator on and went around this round about as shown.........
the red arrows show my path and the green square is the car.

When I got to the red x The green square (car) decided it was time for him to move off.
So he drove straight into the side of me. I had my indicator on the whole way round.
the guy stopped and made sure I was ok and was pretty nice and accepted that it was his fault so I didn't flip out on him.
I got all his details so all will be dealt with.(hopefully)
Had it been someone else who thought it was my fault then I would have put one of my nice solid sidi boots between his legs.
the sidi's also seem to have done a good job as I don't really remember but being hit bang on the side would surely have squished my foot a bit.
But my shoulder is now killing me as I think I landed straight on it but I spose my armour probably did its job just not perfectly.
after that I rode it slowly home as I was only about 1/2 a mile from my house.
But all the way back there was a strange jingley sound coming from somewhere but I can't determine where. as it only does it when I'm moving 10mph +
the exhaust is scratched, bar end scracthed, mirror pole thing is bent, foot brake bent slightly and hand brake leaver has snapped at the end and handle bars are bent.
So my lovley 2 week old hyosung is off to the garage soonish.
But I'm still alive. So off to the local plod station now.
Will probably report more damage tomorrow when I can actually see it.
happened eerr for those interested........

You did call the cops right? and get independent witnesses and go to the Hospital for a checkup right?.
Alas he might admit liability at the time , but come tomorrow it'll be no HE hit ME, he was speeding , didn't have his lights on etc, as people have a terrible habit of worming their way out of things.
FWIW I never go all the way round on mini round abouts, too many of those type incidents I've seen first hand. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Yep the bike was brand new just registered 2 weeks ago.
I know I shouldn't have gone all the way round but it just seemed logical instead of finding somewhere to do a u-turn.
oh well lesson learnt.
anyone got an idea about the jingle? ____________________ Current - Hornet 600, Transalp 650, X140 Pit, GPZ400R

exhaust bracket? (tis a v-twin and vibey, after all - once somethings loosened, wont take much to dislodge some stuff)
Your keys? I know it sound stupid, but when i got my bike I started to notice a jingle, turned out it was me bloody bike keys
Checked all your bolts and nuts for looseness? ____________________ "Oh....it looks like Average Joe's is forfeiting the match!" - "Yeah, its a risky strategy but lets see if it pays off for 'em Cotton." |
