Anyone put a VFR800 swing arm on a GSXR750 '89? Can't find anything in google about this....

I tried putting a 750 one one my FZR1000 only to find the shock on the VFR isn't mounted centrally like the FZR's. This may still be an issue on the 800?

I'll post on SFOC later today Thumbs Up

Just paid for a VFR800 rear end and want that on my GSXR750. Always liked the s/s swing arm on my BROS650. The wheel on the VFR is very nice...just hope its black Praying

What year VFR is it off?

1998-2000 FiW-FiY = Black
2001 Fi-1 = Grey

I've bought a VFR800 rear end including wheel, disc, caliper, wheel and tyre.

Look in my profile for the gsxr750 (with candy red wheels). I've not bought a front wheel (yet) cos I wanted to wait see how successful the rear end is first... and I really want USDs on the bike anyway, and if santa is listening an 1100 engine would be noice too Surprised

One of the VFR750 arms goes straight into your frame, not sure which one but you need to replace the bolt on top shock mount for one with a swan neck.

Why? You're asking for it if you chain through your wheel anyway.

Incidentally, McGuard Honda Civic security nuts replace the standard VFR ones.

And here was you gloating over the virtues of a VFR chain adjuster a few months back , the thing is me NTV has no chain , and can change the rear wheel without removing the zorst, also city centre parking is problematic if you don't do it through the wheels grab bar or forks , indeally they'd be sideways and you can put it through the frame but the spaces don't allow this.

Aye, on the VFR the chain and sprockets stay with the swingarm when you take the wheel off, so does the brake disc. The only problem is the exhaust, you undo 2 bolts at the link pipe and it hinges out of the way.

To be fair, chain adjustment is only really a PITA if you let the 'wheel' seize up. Also if you keep the adjuster in your toolkit and have the solo seat conversion it's a lot of work to get to the toolkit Very Happy
