Aftermarket Parts

Hi all!!
Iv just bought a suzuki gsx600f on an '02 plate.
Does anybody have any comments on this bike??
Also, does anybody know the best place online to get aftermarket parts, for example, white indicator lenses??

white indicator lenses - you can try ebay or www.project-r.co.uk. They do all sorts of tarty stuff so its worth having a look

I would also look on ebay for parts, it's always decent for common Jap bikes.

Comments on the GSXF, hmm, reliable, simple, based on the Bandit or early GSXR 600 engine (1980's design, tried and tested). Air cooled, low maintenance. Valve clearances can be an issue as you clock up the mileage, can affect performance. Make sure it gets its major service at 16k miles and 32k miles (which should include a clearance check). Also get the carbs balanced during the major services (or do them yourself if you can) as that can make these engines a lot smoother.

Another thing, don't ever use aftermarket air filters because it makes these engines run really rough, at least I haven't seen one that does the job as good as the original. The genuine parts aren't stupidly priced too as it's a very common engine. In fact I would check the air filter straight away.

Two things I don't like about this bike:

1. Handling is bad, quite a heavy lump to chuck about, although you can still get some decent corner speed out of it it's no sports bike.

2. The engine is quite basic and low-powered.

It's got a comfy seat though. Some people like that.
