Once winter is over I'd quite like to get a set of new fairings for my NC30, I've noticed the sets from China are selling quite well.

If anybody has bought some or seen some what do you think about the fit and quality? they look very good in the photos.

covered in spelling mistakes too , Gman bought one for his '30 before selling it , they looked OK (aside from the spelling mistakes) but the fit wasn't as good as the original (granted NC30 fairings fir very closely and nicely together)

They're on ebay Smile

Spelling mistakes would amuse me, not a problem. But I'd like a good fit for 300 notes Confused Perhaps it would be better to just repair mine and have crap paintwork.

They do look good quality in the photo's to be honest, but it depends if you're willing to take the chance and how bad a state your current ones are in.

They take a bit of work with a dremel to fit half right and are missing several mounting mounts that are moulded onto the reverse. The finish looks great, nice and shiny but is thin and chips very very easily revealing the grey primer. Its worth it if your fairings are absolutely mangled and you dont want to spend too much on the bike maybe gonna use it as a hack/track etc. If you want the bike to look good spend abit more and get second hand panels/repair respray or just buy another one!

oh yeah they sometimes get the colour wrong too. my repsol was black instead of navy blue (they looked blue in the original photos). and judging from some of the new photos the rothmans also painted black instead of blue.

if they are thin why not get them varnished?.

Pete does varnish for about £20-£25 quid a panel (and its a good idea to get him to do it cus it contains cynaide which gets in via yer ear drums.

Since there is no real skill in applying it like paint it being clear.

You'd have thought they'd spend about 20p paying someone to google their slogans to make them look legit.
Unless its a copyright thing? Maybe they intentionally don't spell them correctly in order to save being sued or whatever? (although when did the Chinese care about copyright I guess?)

Better made ones? , there are some things like Motrax but unpainted,

A full motrax fairing white , undrilled etc will cost around £300 (Looked for one for the CBR) a paint job of your choice will cost from £500-£800.

Thats £1100 easy,

A full CBR fairing from Big H will cost you around £1300, so for about 15% of the cost I think they are fairly reasonable

+ £150 to get it varnished and I reckon it is acceptable.

I'd definetly say go for it. Considering the nosecone alone will set you back around £200 for my bike, I reckoned why not go for a full painted set, delivered to my door? I payed £310 for my full set. Arrived brilliantly packaged within about 10 days. Took me about a day to fit them all, and provided your good with a drill and dremel/some files AND you can get creative you'll have no problems. The fit IS NOT great in places, but the fairings I've got feel nice and heavy- really sturdy, paintwork is excellent and the fairings seem really well laquered. My only quibble is the fit, but thats easily enough fixed.
