Hmm, think I might be asking for a telescope for Christmas. Edit: Oops, I mean horoscope kit and set of Tarot cards.

Quote:
A new survey has highlighted the connections between career and insurability - which may be bad news for footballers but good news for astrologists.

The study, conducted by moneysupermarket.com, found that professionals such as footballers, surgeons and barristers would be more likely to break the speed limit and indicated that the insurance industry should reconsider the way it calculates car insurance premiums.

Football players were found to be more than 27 per cent likely to break the speed limit, with sales directors following close behind on around 25 per cent, while driving examiners (4.55 per cent), au pairs (4.10 per cent) and astrologers (2.55 per cent) were among the least likely to speed.

Richard Mason, director of insurance at moneysupermarket.com, said: "Our research shows the fines associated with speeding have an effect, as those who can least afford to pay them are generally sticking to the speed limit far better."

He added that it would be in the best interests of the insurance industry to review the information and if necessary reflect this in the premiums involved with car insurance.

"Astrologers, au pairs and driving examiners should be paying a lot less than footballers, sales directors, and surgeons," he concluded.

In related news, Reuters reports today that the European Union is set to introduce measures that could lead to increased competition in the banking and insurance industry.

Does anyone have the "top 10" and "bottom 10" list?

Because speeding is the only indicator as to how safe one is as a driver, and how safe the vehicle is where it's parked? Rolling Eyes

Indeed.

The closest thing on the lists my job comes to is "quality inspector" or similar, which I'm hoping is the sort of person that isn't a big risk for insurers Smile.

I dont think a footballer gives a toss how much insurance costs with the amount of money they get a week.
