Easy repair? (fairings)

How would you guys go about repairing something like this?

My thoughts are hair drier off the decal , glue it back up with this maplins glue Gman has, then finding a big red decal cut it to shape and size and sticking it over, maybe putting a decal or some sort over the blue cracked bit.

Missed out on a perfect LH fairing it went for over £120 , and I currently have a mint LH fairing but its silver, which means even more decals a need to paint and varnish it , etc

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't bother fixing it, but as your asking how, i'd go to a sticker/vinyl shop and show them the vinyl which was there, they might be able to match it perfectly or get a close match.

My mate fixed huge cracks in his fairings using this tube of cement plastic stuff, goes extremely hard and can be sanded down flush with the rest of the panel, get the paint matched and spray over Thumbs Up

I usually use a soldering irom on the reverse and use in a cross stich pattern after gluing just to add that extra strength.

look for PLASTECH at wemoto , this product is cheaper than PLASTEX and very effective

Its going to be hit and miss using glue to fix the cracks. A better method would be plastic welding. You usually do this with an adjustable hot air heat gun with the correct nozzle and ABS rods, about £100 to buy.
You can get away with a soldering iron and plastic straws if you have the patience. This will bond the inner surface. For the outside you could make up some ABS filler but its not nice stuff and normal flexible body filler is just as good.

Or you could get a thin sheet of ABS, heat it and mould to the inner surface shape of the fairing and then bond that in place, its gives a bigger contact area for the glue to grip.

Try it out on a bit of scrap first, obviously.

If it's ABS use some ABS adhesive sold at B&Q etc for sticking ABS pipes together.... then just V-groove the join on the front for filler & use a soldering iron on the back.

Airless plastic welders are far superior to the "hot air" variety, you should be able to buy different tips for soldering irons? Failing that just hit it with a file & put a 45deg face on the one you have.

& you can buy ABS plumbing pipe or fittings to use as "filler" for pennies

I fixed a much worse zzr1100 fairing using superglue. Not normal superglue, I bought a pot of trade stuff for £3 from a double-glazing shop. It was slow setting but much more durable than the fast stuff. Lasted the 6 mths or so until I sold the bike.
