Hi all, before I explain the situation, I'm perfectly aware that kittens may have died, and yes I will take any punishment on the chin and deal with it.

Right. So this morning I was going to be setting off to 1samags to pick up some bits for the bike. It was rainy and exceptionally windy so I was a little sceptical. I went out on a dual carriageway near me to 'test the water' and found it horrificly wet and cold. Anyway, deciding to ditch the attempt I turned off at the next turning and headed home.
Being that its a Sunday morning, the roads are empty (and I'm a plank forgetting police random breathalize sunday mornings and therefore are out in force) so I open her up a bit, get to about 120, then realise I'm redlined. Get confused and then realised not in top gear, Changed up then reached about 135ish (indicated ofc). As I was coming up the arse of these cars doing 100ish, they moved over for me, and then just as I was passing them and some services, I notice a police car sitting there. It was a skoda estate, just sitting there on its own. I slow down rapidly to about 80, thinking 'damn I just lost my license'. My turnoff is the next one, so I take it, and then see another two squad cars sitting on the roundabout, each with one officer. One of them has a youngish angry looking fella being breathalized, and the other is watching traffic. The one watching nods to me, then pulls over the car behind.

Basically I want to know my chances that one of them had a gun, and if so I'm aware that I might as well say goodbye to being on the road for a couple of months.

This has made me realise that I need to treat the roads, my license, and other drivers with more respect. I'm not really experienced enough to be able to deal with anything that could have happened at those speeds, and I'm sure if I do have to go to court, they will (quite rightly so) through the proverbial book at me.

Anyone got any thoughts or musings? Or even lectures Embarassed

You found the road conditions so bad you had to turn arround but then found them good enough to do 130mph+?

Yeah I've got a lesson, but you've learned it yourself already.... Now, if you actually TAKE NOTICE of the lesson, you won't lose your license.

tbh if the Skodie had wanted you they'd prolly have radioed you in and you'd be still explaining about the kittens to them now, while they calmly rape you with your own helmet. So I *reckon* you're probably ok.

Just be fucking careful from now on!

Unlikely they 'had' anything on you and they'd most probably have stopped you if they had. Situation you describe, it sounds like it's unlikely they'd have been able to get a decent speed-check on you.

I think you got away with it to be honest. Be more careful on the road. those kittens can wreck your bike. especially if you get one in the air filter Twisted Evil

I think you done well to get to 130+ on roads so wet you had to head back. nutter Rolling Eyes

No amount of reckless speed will outrun the police radio. If they were going to get you, they would have there and then IMO.

Insinuating a person using a vehicle that can travel at no more than 160MPH, never mind the speed of light.

I fail to see how the link info doesn't back up anything I claim. Confused

Well the conditions were fine for 5 minutes at excessive speed, but 100 miles on roads I've never been on, on motorways to a place I've never been to, in the cold and wet was not appealing.

Thanks for the info and constructive criticism.
