i noticed the other day a couple of rs125's pulling out of a petrol station and they seemed to sound a lot more crisp compared to my nsr and when i thought about it every other 2 stroke i have seen sounds more crisp and nice than mine mine just sounds alot more boggy in comparison. so i was just wondering if it was just my bike or if anyone else has noticed this ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125

They sound crap under load below 3-4,000RPM.
Get it under load above 8000RPM and it does sound very nice, even in traffic at 5000RPM in 3rd or 4th it sounds good.
Get it round to 10,000rpm where the power is for a good note...you'll then be in front of the commonly braking down Aprilia's ____________________ Owner of the CRD Supra (1037bhp)

when I had my nsr it sounded a hell of a lot different when I was on it, compared to watching my dad blast down the street on it. It sounded much deeper trhough my helmet, sat on top of it. It sounded crisp and clear and high pitched and made me cream when I heard it from a distance Most people wont hear theyre own bike from a distance, so I think this may have something to do with it?
Plus, Im a sucker for always getting the "grass is greener on the other side" syndrome
I reckon its a combination of these factors mate
But if not, has it been serviced/maintained properly and regularly? It probs has, Im just thinking why you might think it doesnt sound as good. Could play a big difference pal. ____________________ "Oh....it looks like Average Joe's is forfeiting the match!" - "Yeah, its a risky strategy but lets see if it pays off for 'em Cotton." |

i look after it very well, change oil, clean filter, plug, changed rings ect, it is due for a full topend rebuild soon but i have owned the bike from 4000 miles and it has always sounded the same, apart from a few ticks, rattles have developed but its at 17000 miles now so its to be expected. ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125
