Just got back from the painters how has sprayed my Dads Blade. He just happened to have some sprayed TLR parts in Predator looks, he is looking for £500 and a swap for my standard parts.
I was just wondering how everyone feels about one off jobs!

sorry about the pics.
any comments welcome
cheers

I personally rate most airbrush job's within reason. I appreciate the huge amount of time and effort that goes into them and i guess that's why i like them to some extent.

Not overly keen on what he's done to those TL fairings as i think they're a bit bright really. Not intimadating enough for something that's a litre V twin. At the end of the day it's personal choice but that particular one isn't for me.

What's he done to your dad's blade? Respray or custom airbrush job?

That paintjob is bloody nice. Unsure whether I'd pay £500 and original fairings for it though.

Why, it would cost more than that if you took your fairings to a sprayer and asked for them air-brushing.

hes got a set of fairings in return. And didnt have to wait for it to be done either. Cool Thumbs Up

he sprayed the blade back to standard instead of the s**t flip paint that was on it.

i do like the custom paint tbh but i dont think i could live with it like my standard.
they are nearly perfect condition, well very good really for a 8year old bike.
more than anything i rekon id be scared of damaging it, and this is my main mode of transport next to my winter crosser hack so its bound to get wear and tear quickly.

D, they look fuckin awesome man. Id do it, just to say you had it at some point mate. And to be fair, the swap for that tank alone would be ideal, cos your tank is in a right shtty state! (like my own lol)

Cant believe your gonna chnage your bikes paint job to match your helmet Razz lmao

Let me know what you decide, what he budge on the price at all mate? Actually, youre on msn, im gonna come chat

Nah, I don't like it.

Althogh by and large I'm not a huge fan of the airbrushed look anyway.

Cant say its not fairly rare though.

Id have it, just to say I had it at somepoint. Plus Im a huge predator fan. And a massive bike fan. And my brothers gonna be training to be a paint technician as his career. And D's my biking buddy.

But Im not biased. Honest Smile

Aaaarrrgh!

My eyes!

Don't like it at all. IMO paintjobs should merely enhance a bike's lines, not be a big picture on their own.

But if you like them, then don't listen to me!

Its a very nice paint job. Personally I wouldn't buy one in case I damaged it - far too much cash to spend out again for touch ups. If its your type of thing and you're not as clumsy as I am, then it's probably worth it! Thumbs Up

agreed, its the little stone chips that will annoy me the most,
also i have found some handy things for the £500.
including the undertray and hugger i just got (£130)
new rear tyre (£130)
powercommander (£150)

it is a nice paint job. but £500+ panels is way to much IMHO.

plus it will de-crease the resale value of your bike.

Not one for paying large amounts of money on a couple of layers of paint Wink
