I a have a 50cc scooter with an aftermarket AUTOBOSS immobiliser fitted. It's been off the road for a year or so now and the battery has gone flat. I recentley purchased a new battery in the hope of selling the bike but the immobiliser has gone weird. The starter motor is working fine but I presume the immobiliser is preventing the engine from starting. There is a round tab with an LED at the centre where I have to touch a circular key. Normally this flashes once every 2 secs but now it double flashes which means it is in service mode according to the manual. However I cannot get any response from the unit on the vehicle unless I hold the key against the tab for around 20 secs when the LED turns on constantly, when touched again it returns to the double flash. This happens with both normal and master keys.
So now I'm really fed up with it and wondering what them best thing to do is. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers, Jim.

Best bet contact the manufacture and see what they say.
Sounds a bit like removing the battery has upset it.
Maybe it thinks you tried to steel the bike and now needs to be reset.

Cheers, I think it is a cheap one and the company has gone bust because when I tried calling the helpline yesterday all I got was a modem/fax screeching back at me. Will just call a mechanic probably.

Hey.

There is a website for the company, looks like they don't make alarms any more though. https://www.autoboss.net/english/E-index-yhzl.htm is the link.

Also unfortunately, they're in China so a phone call might be out of the question too. Maybe email for a pdf copy of the manual? I think thats a long shot too though.

I imagine your best best is to try and track down another immobiliser that looks the same as yours and try and get a manual for that. The LED 'blink codes' will probably be the same as long as its a fairly generic alarm model.

You should be able to reset it by holding the key in for 30 seconds or more - maybe even a minute, which is how these things usually work. Could be that its just buggered and needs taken out.

On the upside, no one can nick it...

Good luck with it. Thumbs Up
