im talking about little things that piss you off. Like the little niggles?

My dad feels the need to constantly prove he is a rideing God to me. He constantly feels the need to tell me how his rideing style is far superior to mine Rolling Eyes . I mean there is a line between constructive critisism and just being fucking annoying. Like today had a quick ride around the block on my dad's bike, and noticed the throttle was a little sticky. I asked him if it annoyed him and he gave me a 5 min lecture on why i should allways roll the throttle off. Now i know you should and everything but all I was saying was it gets anoying haveing to really roll it off. I got a 17 min lecture on proper throttle procedure by someone who has been rideing less than 6 months Evil or Very Mad its every little thing he does this on, like going round an island when it perfectly safe nothing comeing the other side, and theres no possible way to get round it your side. I waited till absoloutley no traffic was comeing to go round one once, but my dad deemed that he knew best and decided to sit there, i pulled up and waited for him to catch up, 5 miins later i got bored, came back along the road, and told him i was going off while he sat there like a twat for 15 mins, all because he didnt want to go round an island. I then get a 30 min lecture when i get home 30 mins before him on how im a danger to humanity and a complete twat. Evil or Very Mad

He's only doing that because he loves you and wants to make sure you don't have an accident.

No, sod that, he's doing that because he's a know-it-all who can't believe his son would be better than him at anything.

This explains all you could need

Seriously though, just tell him you need your own space to learn and make the mistakes for yourself. Showing you are mature enough to learn for yourself and accept you also don't know it all will help.

Sadly me and my dad are carbon copies.

He was the same, and constantly comes in to talk down to me when im doing maintenance. Reckons i should always buy new from Honda and should put it into garages for oil changes and brake maintainence... Rolling Eyes

Forced me to buy my bikes from dealers (he was lending the money) so since i wanted a goose i got lumbered with a complete lemon with no comeback

Fun times.

Just roll with it.

Its all worth it when you seven ball em a couple of time Wink

edit: I forgot the best one. Took him a month to notice i had a pierced tongue. When he clocked it he said 'a lot of lesbians have that... '. Proving he knew of the cunnilingusy business... then asked my mum if i was gay later Rolling Eyes

I can outride my dad and he knows it. Doesn't stop him called me a nutter though.

By and large we get on most of the time though, same with my mum really.

Remind him quietly that you're going to be the one choosing his nursing home...

I've not lived at home for 12 years now. (Damn I'm starting to feel old)

Except for special occasions. I only really see my parents for about 30 minutes a week and that's to drop Bethany off when my mum looks after her.

I didnt really get on with my dad when I was at home as I always thought he was a picky bastard.

Strange, my Mum lives 12000 miles away and seems to be able to annoy me over the phone without difficulty.
