What is the cheapest return ferry I can get for three weeks in April/May next year for me and my bike to get to France? Obviously I'm willing to book well in advance to minimize costs.

(Yes, I am going on the C90, and yes, I do think it'll make it.)

Go on the Eurotunnel, seriously. Ferries are utterly lame in comparison.

Cost me £60 last summer.

You can use Tesco clubcard points on Eurotunnel, that should save you some money.
Cool

Who would want to sit in an underground metal box when for less cash you could get a fry-up and sit in a lounge watching the sea go past?

The cheapest way is either Dover-Calais, or Dover-Dunkerque. Speed Ferries won't take bikes anymore so Dover-Boulogne is out of the question.

Get quotes from P&O, SeaFrance and Norfolk Line. To get the cheapest tickets go for unsociable hours - the earlier the better. I find around 6-7am leaving Britain a good cheap compromise, and coming back late around 10ish.

I paid , £42 return I think (leaving at 630am ish) , BUT because I came back a day early paid an extra £38 ontop.

went with P&O, problem is though riding through the night screws up your sleep pattern and day 1 I effectively rode for 17 hours with an hour on the ferry asleep.

Me.

Tis much, much quicker, and flexible (within reason) for crossings - I have turned up 2 hours early before, and was on a train 20 min later.

Agree - I much prefer to stay above water level.

I've turned up a few hours late, as well as a day and a half late and was on a train 20 min later. Thumbs Up For obvious reasons, can't see that happening on a ferry!
