SHIT!!!! Dropped my fuel tank!!!

I was putting my battery back in, and I'd dislocated the fuel tank, but not the fuel line, so I had it firmly balanced on the frame. While getting a spanner from the floor the fucker fell off and now there are 2 tiny (but very annoying) scratches on it! I'm furious! The bike was MINT and I'm about to sell it

And all of it cause I was too lazy to take off and put on the bloody FUEL LINE! I even thought about it and said naaaa! I'm in a hurry

A long time ago I paid £200 for a full respray, purple metal flake! While attaching the fuel lines I knocked one of the plug leads so with teenage initiative I balanced the tank on a piece of wood.

While messing with the plug the tank rolled and hit the frame causing a little scratch.

A red mist descended and I tore the tank off and threw it on the grass outside the house. With the unexpected accuracy of anger I hit a concrete hedgehog and caused a dent about 3" across.

Cost me about £150 to get it all sorted.

They sure are awkward things to prop up on the RS. I find the metal stick thing that comes with the bike never really works with proping it up. Also got to be so careful that bloody fuel line does'nt ping off from the tank.
I guess its easier than my ZX6R though. With that you have to take the whole bloody thank off to remove the battery Rolling Eyes

Well that's what I did really. I took the whole tank off. Now here's another shit thing that I couldn't be bothered to mention before.
The reason I dropped it etc is I was in a hurry. I left my garage quickly as I'd taken all my gear down, and after about 200m the bike died. I thought aahhh. Fuel tap. I turned the tap to on.
The bike started and lasted about 5 metres... I thought I must have used up all the petrol in the fuel line. I started attempting bump starting on the sidewalk with no luck. After some frustration I parked the bike ans started looking inside behind the fuel tap when I see petrol POURING out of the tap. The fuel line had disconnected by itself!!!
As I was so pissed off about the tank falling, I had just stuck the fuel line on without much attention. Obviously it wasn't snugly enough! There was a trail of petrol about 50m long behind me, I'd passed at least 20 people and nobody was kind enough to mention it...
Luckily my friend lives on that same corner so he came down with some allens and we stuck it back. Works perfect now, but I must have lost about half - a litre of petrol...
