Hello all, I'm sorting out my girlfriends new NSR for her (125RK 1991) and need a couple of bits of info Wink
How much fork oil / what level of fork oil is meant to go in once I've changed the fork seals,
Is there a sensible (cheap!) place to get a replacement fairing?
Do all NSR's sound like a bag of spanners in a washing machine when they're out of the power band??? Shocked (I'm used to an old GPz900R Wink
Thanks Guys (& Gals)

Mine rattles like shite now, thats from when its had its main bearings changed, i think they all do!!!
Fork spring free length:
320 (12,5)
Capacity:
280cc
Fluid Level:
130 (5,1)
Could you tell us what differance it makes???? Mines 12 yrs old and i think the oils probably a bit past its sell by date!!!
You can get complete fairings for £180 painted in one colour, you could then get graphics from www.morgandesighns.com (i know they do an nsr graphic).
Also you might as well registar on this site, nsr's seem to have a habit of going wrong!!!!
All the Best

Hi Dylan,
Thanks for looking out the figures, just off to do the job when I get off line.
I'm glad it's not just this one that rattles! I had visions of having to do an engine build Crying or Very sad Still I think my advice to my better half stands..."just carry your AA card and rag it until it goes pop!" Twisted Evil Wink
If you've never changed the fork oil I'd reccomend draining them and putting in new fluid, at worst you'll do no harm! I'll let you know if I feel much of a difference tho' (the same job transformed my XBR500)
Whereabouts can I get the fairings you mentioned?? M&P only seem to list ugly barn door things and none of the other places I found did them painted Confused Confused
As to going wrong... I'm sure your bike is V reliable... (did I tell you any fault that doesn't leave you stranded doesn't count!?!?!?)
Thanks again,
All the best,
Smudge Cool

Mmm, always carry a spare spark plug, mine stoped and i changed the plug and it went agin, seems strange that they just fail!!!!
I think the replica fairings were made by demon tweeks https://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/
Just saw it in a suplement to performance bikes. What oil did you put in the forks?? Was it light fork oil??
Thanks
Dyl

Hi,
Job done, new fork seals fitted and front end back together Very Happy
I wont know if the oil change made much difference because one fork leg was empty and the other also had a leaking seal Shocked
For the record tough I used synthetic 10w fork oil... so we'll see how that feels sometime soon Laughing
Thanks for the plug tip, sounds like a good plan. Gotta go, suppers ready Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Catch ya,
Smudge

Curious thing... when I took out the old seals they had a medal cup as part of the seal but the (genuine Honda) replacement seals were just normal plastic/rubber stuff Confused Confused Confused
Also, why does it say "L Plate Warrior" under my name???? I haven't been that for YEARS! Razz

'L plate warrior' is there cos you've only made a few posts. When you reach a certain amount it will change- I think you need to make 10 posts to go up a level but I could be wrong....
