why bump it? that would be the last thing on my mind if i had just changed the piston, if the rings were not installed properly you could quite easily end up with shards of them in your bottom end and that would be bad plus scoring the barrel. using the electric start would be less forcefull and if it doesnt turn over somethings not right ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125

You should always check that the engine turns over by hand before reassembling everything. In other words straight after dropping the barrel over the piston you should turn the crank a few times. You should also make sure the piston rings line up properly. Don't force it too, it should take very little effort to turn the crank with no head on it.

Have you got a rear paddock stand? If so lift the bike onto it and try turn the rear wheel while in gear, with the clutch in and the clutch out (probably gonna need help with that).
Or if not try pushing it in gear with the clutch in and the clutch out, it is possible to do this though it'll be very heavy in gear. If it doesn't move at all when in gear then I'd be worried that you made a mistake rebuilding the top end.
You did lubricate everything with two stroke oil right? ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.
