Though the funniest bit has got to be this: -

Quote:
One study found men were 21% more likely to die after the loss of their wife.

No shit. Hardly going to live forever. Laughing

Laughing Yes... out of two people, if one dies I'd say you were 100% more likely to die after someone who's already dead...

You're right, it is hilarious how my grandfather was unable to cope with the loss of my grandmother. His rapid physical and mental decline, leading to his death less than a year after hers, is the stuff of comedic legend. Thumbs Up

Its called broken heart syndrome and usually will happen at the time or upon the bad news rather than several weeks, months, years later.

Quote:
All had signs of an apparent heart attack immediately after some kind of sudden emotional stress, including news of a death, shock from a surprise party, fear of public speaking, armed robbery, a court appearance and a car accident.

I've nursed a women that had a heart attack when she woke up next to her dead husband as well as a more recently example of this 'syndrome'.

When you have watched your remaining parent's health decline dramatically and they die within a year of their spouse, I might listen to you.

Life brings experience, you will realise that one day.

My mate's mother-in-law succumbed to cancer last month, her husband died 12 days later and the only thing he'd had wrong was low level diabetes. DOnt know what was put on the death certificate, dont like to ask.

Did you know voodoo often kills people.

That is assuming they firmly believe in voodoo, and know they were 'cursed'.

Power of the human mind is terrifying really.

best start a pension scheme then (me) , I figure I am virtually immortal, as I have survived multiple deadly encounters (think pulp fiction where the guy rushes out of the kitchen with a gun , high speed crashes , bounced off cars after drinking too much been beaten severely , eaten seriously bad food which causes people to be ill in hospital, and I never had any of those immunisations children in the UK have until I was 23

Bet you die of something REALLY stupid. Like amoebic dysentery or something weird. Or being rear ended by a myopic old woman at 2 mph into traffic. Something just annoying.

Remember, you tempted it!

I read somewhere or probably saw on QI that voodoo isn't actually the one where they stick pins in dolls to curse them.

I have a god complex. I have come the conclusion that I am invincible.

Hit head on and walked away. I have fallen from ridiculous heights and landed on my back and still walked away (albeit winded)

Hit with a scaffold pole with great velocity to the head (that hurt) blood every where and a nasty concussion.

Like Itchy I should be dead. Yet here I am still alive.

I did not mean to make it out that I found the thing funny. Shocked
