Coming down my road and hit diesel (i think)
Was heading down my road heading towards the traffic lights breaking when my front end decided to give way and thrown me down.
Ive damages all my fairings on one side, snapped my mirror and indicator, snapped my break lever and damages a couple of minor parts.
Will get pics soon.
Absolutely gutted, just spend 2 hours cleaning her with my new autoglym kit and wrapped it.
Needs some paint and parts Sad

It could've been worse without the autoglym matey! Smile

Where abouts did this happen? I noticed a lot of diesel around Liverpool this morning, although to be fair I've never had a problem with the stuff.

The damage isnt too bad but i just hate seeing my bike untidy.
Im bad when it comes to having a clean bike, i strip it down and clean it all the time so this is murder for me haha.
Hopefully as good as new in a few weeks.

Yeah martin can fix the can but money is tight now im needing a re-spray down one side and parts plus its xmas.
So fixing myself is the cheaper option.
Meeting up sounds good Smile

Man, what a shitter. Its always a shame when a nice bike gets bashed up, but not much you can do about it when diesel is concerned unless you get lucky. Had a moment myself not so long ago, but managed to save it and that was just cold tyres and a bit of wetness.

nice one mate! cant wait to see it back to its nice condition! take it easy out there, diesel and water = bike on the deck, learn to brake lighter and earlier and a bit of throttle control and relax alot and your riding will improve alot! trust me, i know.
check my bike pics and my 50 cc DNA for a look at how i used to ride.

ouch thats nasssstttyyy.
Gutted bout the DNA thats a right mess Sad
You've owned a fair few bikes it seems!
Yeah im usually pretty good in the wet but the tires on my bike give me no confidence when tis wet (SHINKO tires).
The compile on the tire is so hard its just never warm enough to stick well.
Cant wait to get a bigger bike, daytona 650 in the summer Cool

swap em for some grippier stuff, my FZR's rear tyre is hard and wont walm up in this weather at all so i suffer from fish tails etc like last nite, but wont get the better of me. am doing the FZR up and will get another set of rims so i can swap from soft to medium compounds for mileage.

All the parts are coming this week and getting fitted, will semi fighter it when the front end goes in for a re-spray.
Already managed to get a mint rear end in the same colour for £25 delivered so i dont need to take the bike off the road.
Will look weird streetfightered Laughing

Been looking into it but they're so expensive for the hyosungs.
Only 1 company seems to do them but at over £120 its abit much, i can get the whole side of the bike sprayed for less than that!

so instead of a £60 respray i should leave it scratched and lose money when i sell it in a few months.
Sounds great? Confused
And howcome other people always know best? you manage to lose your bike in a straight line doing about 20mph after hitting a puddle of something on a dry road surface that was slippy as hell.
Hmm maybe it wasnt diesel maybe someone spilt 2stroke? engine oil? chemicals?
or maybe it was just diesel? or i somehow managed to just fall off? Rolling Eyes

Where you getting the respray done? 60 quid sounds a bit too cheap for 2/3 panels in most instances (colour matched accurately). I think Pug205er spent about 600 quid getting his WHOLE bike resprayed and that was with MINT fairings. I was quoted 600 quid for my bike to get resprayed using a mix of new fairings and used rears. So that cost of doing one side is a bit dubious. Pearlesecent paint jobs are difficult to execute and any shoddy work will be instantly revealed (hence why i've decided NOT to get my whole bike resprayed in original colours)

Either way, crash bungs are worthwhile, but since it's a 125, law of probablity will suggest it won't be long until it hits the floor again, be it by yourself (hopefully not) or another owner! Well, i blamed my crash on "diesel", but meh, i was just riding too fast for the conditions, leant too far over on a road that i wasn't familiar with with a negative camber and lost it. Diesel is soo easy to blame. A common scapegoat, like carb icing is when people realise their bike is misfiring in the winter. Hell i've even had people suggesting carb icing on bikes when it's FI! Rolling Eyes

Other people always know best because they've been there, done that, go the t-shirt, learnt from experience and will NEVER EVER DO IT AGAIN! Neutral

Oh, and word of warning, take those alloy valve caps off. Do some research into Bi-metallic corrosion, you'll soon find out that the two metals will sieze since they become an electrolytic cell - same reason why to stay away from alloy fittings on braided brake lines. Valve caps were made plastic for a reason.

Well i know as a 125 rider with L's im presumed to be a new rider with no experiance probably 17 years old and immature.
But im 22, with about 4 years experiance on bikes, i dont mess about much and i ride how i feel comfortable riding.

I am respraying the bike as a mate of mine is doing it as a favour.
I get the paint and he sprays it.
I definately dont fancy coming off again within the next couple of months and i couldnt live with a scratched bike, it just bugs me.
My mate is awsome at painting and i trust him 100% to do a good job as ive seen all his lambretta's he restores and paints, hes done it for years.
The whole job will come to about £85 including the paint.
It only needs 2 panels painting as ive alrady purchased a rear rhs fairing in the colour of my bike and its mint Smile
ive already spent too much money on the bike tbh so ill let the next owner buy the bungs Laughing

Oh and yes the valve caps have siezed already lol, ill just cut them off and buy new tires if needs be.

You cant cut the valves off if its a tubeless tyre, which it probably is.

And it was pissing down with rain when you crashed, if there wasnt a rainbow on the floor it probably wasn't diesel, and you probably grabbed too much front brake....
