I have recently brought a 2005 triumph daytona 600, the problem i have is when i have taken the bike for a ride on a hot day. If i try to restart the bike before it cools down it wont hold an idle and keeps stalling unless i open the throttle. I understand that when i stop the bike it probably gets hotter as there is no air flow around the engine and no coolant is passing through the engine. Is the fuel evaporating or a carb adjustment, i dont know where to start.

I would start by checking the intake manifold(s). Make sure that they're bolted up tight and not drawing air in. If it only happens when it's hot, then something may be distorting with heat effecting the mixture. Try spraying easy start around the join where the carbs join to the engine and see if the engine revs pick up ( a sure sign of a leaking inlet manifold). Good luck Thumbs Up

I'd place my bets on the fault being with a sensor, maybe lamda or airbox...

thanks for the replys, I am not sure if it would be a leak in the manifold because after a few minutes of holding the throttle open and getting it going it will start to idle okay when i reach a set of lights. Its only on the initial start after riding the bike before it has cooled down, not a continual problem when the bike is hot

These have a 2-pipe fuel system (flow & return) right? Sounds like your return pipe is kinking when it heats up pushing the fuel pressure up.

When the problem occurs try lifting the tank slightly and starting the bike. If it cures the problem, you need to replace or re-route your fuel hoses.

is the bike injection or carbed ?

if its injection you can rule out fuel evaporation

i would go with the kinked pipe as mentioned above
