Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's not the winning that counts, but the taking part?

Besides that, it's the Sports Personality of the Year, not Winner of the Year.

And I was sure that Lewis Hamilton won in Canada, the US, Hungary and Japan plus a whole load of other podium finishes.

Paula Radcliffe didn't win the World Championship this year (nor did she win the World Marathon Majors title) so why aren't you slating her?

That could all change over night if Hatton wins the fight.

Paddy.

She won the new york or whatever marathon in her first marathon after she came back from having a kid, or did you miss that?
Im not slating her as she has won something, and is not favourite to win this, where as a 'loser' is.

My point is that Hamilton won the equivalent of four of what Radcliffe won (individual races), yet you are calling him a loser and her a winner.

What's wrong with Lewis winning it? For being the only Brit in Formula 1 to do anything remotely worthy of mention since 1996? Well and truly making established drivers look silly in his rookie season? Being the first black F1 driver ever? By remaining calm under pressure? By raising Brit F1 TV audiences two fold and actually making people tune in? By being generally cheerful and enthusiastic about the sport he competes in? By not being an arrogant cock?

No, I can't think of any reasons for him to win it either... Rolling Eyes

Would be great if Toseland won it but unfortunately that's unlikely.

And at least a fvcking nancy footballer won't win it this year...

Jason robinsons deserves it i think. A true English legend and an international rugby heroe. Despite his age he is still playing and returned for one final world cup even though he had retired.

Sure all the other candidates have achieved something but out of all of them jason robinson is probably the most modest sports man and under-rated sportsman. He was a key player in winning the 2003 world cup.

Jason Robinson FTW
