Watching copied DVD's on xbox 360/ HD DVD player

Is this possible without getting the xbox chipped. I tried earlier with a dvd R/W disk, and it didnt work. Is this because its R/W or because the 360 only lets you watch non copied dvds

Don't know what the 360 plays, but it's unlikely to play DVDRW. It might well play DVDR though.

Yea thats what i thought but dont want to waste a dvdr on trying, so ill just wait for a reply lol.

They will play copies on DVDR just fine, but it does need to be encoded as a DVD, not just DivX files as it won't play them.

The new update allows you to play divx's on the xbox360 AFAIK, I tried it with one of mine the other day.
