I'm having problems with my immobiliser. Last night I couldn't disarm it so I changed the key fob battries and still no luck. Tried again just now and it won't disarm so I can't use it.

I've tried holding down both the buttons to re-align the fob but nothing.

Any ideas?

Also, where is the unit likely to be located on the bike? Thanks.

The unit is usually either under the seat or behind a fairing panel, somewhere out of sight.

I had a similar problem with my evo alarm on my old thundercat. In my case the internal battery had gone within the unit which meant getting it to a garage and having it removed. Not easy since you cant start the bike so you'll need to get it picked up.

You could try getting a new key fob and re-programming it to see if that works, might be a loose connection.

Does the alarm sound if you move the bike still? Does the LED come on the fob when u press a button?

Yes the alarm sounds when the bike is moved or when the ignition is turned on. The led light on the key fob does light up but it sometimes takes a few presses.

Thanks for help I will try re-programming my spare.

This alarm is fustrating me so much Sad

I know what you mean, mine did my head in when it was on the blink. Only took a day to sort out in the garage though.

Re-programming the spare is a bit of a ball ache, you need to dis connect the two sensor cables and make a connection with the battery then punh in a series of key presses on the fob.

If that dunt work then its deff the internal battery thats gone

Found the unit and the inline fuse and it all seems fine, I think it must be the fob, it did get damp 2 weeks ago, might have something to do with it.

Luckily I have the use of a car for this week so I'l have a go at re-programming the spare this weekend.

Thumbs Up

Hi I am having similar problems with my 600FX 1999 used last tues ok went to start it weds nothing no electric start but was able to bump start it ok, the alarm would engage and disengage using key fob but when I turned of the ignition the alarm would set ok then after a couple of minutes the alarm would go off so I had to pull a 10a fuse from fuse box to cut all power to stop the alarm, now the alarm does not work when I replace the fuse and the bike still will not start. the alarm situated on the left behind the seat cowling. have contacted Datatool but so far no reply. any info on how to rectify this problem would be greatly welcomed.
