Had someone phone up offering to buy my bike, we agreed a price and that he would send me a deposit to keep it for him.

2 days later the postal order for the deposit of 50quid arrives as arranged I phone him to tell him. He says he will come get the bike on tuesday (today) and will contact me monday to let me know what time.

No contact from him on Monday so I try to call him but he hasnt been answering calls or texts for the last 2days.

Who would send 50quid then not bother to answer calls or texts to pick it up??!!

He has none of my personal details except my address and phone number. Was thinking it might be a scam but I just cant see how he would be scamming me.

Safe to say the bike will be staying locked and alarmed in the garage untill it sells incase he turns up with a van when im not here.

You did say it was a non-refundable deposit didn't you..... Mr. Green

Do you have full contact and address details for him? If so do a quick google and see what they bring up.

I would hang onto it and wait for him, but keep a very close eye on your bike.. Neutral Maybe sleep with the bike tonite. Would not be the 1st time its happened.

As above maybe a innocent explanation, but better safe than sorry.

All I have for him is his mobile number and his home number.

I have phoned his home number twice now and spoken to who I assume is his wife or his mum, she told me she would get him to call me back but he hasnt. I called when he was supposed to come collect the bike and was told he was at work so it sounds like he has decieded its too far to come or that he doesnt want it anymore.

Just seems suspicious to me as im in Norfolk and hes in Glasgow and said the distance (400miles each way) was no problem, makes me think he's botteld it and cant be bothered to tell me.

AH well that £50 has paid any bills you have accrued.

I would give him till Sat then ring again and ask if he's comming and that the £50 is not being returned.

I would also be carefull if he says can we meet half way as well.
