Pushbike nicked - wankers!

My friendly local neighbourhood thieving cunts relieved me of my pushbike last night.

It was chained, with a mahoosive mammoth motorbike chain to a drainpipe. They wrenched the pipe away from the wall, snapped it at the bottom, and slid the chain underneath!!!

Proper wound up, it made me late this morning as I had to walk. I can't afford a new one either really.

Can't believe they rode it with the heavy chain attached to the frame. The brakes were binding too, hope they fell off a couple of times and broke a bone or two.

Anyway I am getting sick of this scum coming round the back and seeing what they can steal, it was the two CBR's in August (thankfully recovered) and now this, you just can't have owt!!

Think I will report to the police, as I think I have bicycle cover on my home contents policy. Also if theres a spate of thefts it might help investigation (if they bother with one).

Currently reconsidering purchase of an alarm mine!! And some live shells...

I'd always report stuff like this, they might not do anything but it'll get counted. The government can't then say 'Look how well we're all doing on law and order...'

Obviously, the reality is they'll massage the statistics to show an improvement anyway.

Some shit tried to steal my (motor)bike last sunday, I reported that. The best they could do is take a statement over the phone, I wasn't expecting a swat team or anything; someone turning up to have a wee look would've been nice though.

The cost and inconvenience are (obviously) a pain in the arse, but it is honestly the FUCKING CHEEK of these walking abortions that boils my piss. How dare they stroll onto my property and take their pick!

Makes me laugh, the big 'Neighbourhood Watch' sticker on the lampost outside my place. Bet none of the neighbours heard a thing when I ask them.

Feel bad for ya feller. The police couldn't give a flying fuck about bike thefts though. I had a bike nicked back along, and the response was "Yeah there's a lot of it about, there's a transit van has come down from Bristol..."

I was furious - if there's a lot of it about, fucking DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT you lazy fuckers! Bikes cost good money and theft deserves some kind of response really, imo.

Well, they say when you get caught speeding that you should never say "Why aren't you out catching real criminals?".

In this case I believe its perfectly acceptable to turn it on its head and say "Are you too busy catching speeding motorists to care about a theft that occurred on my property?".

I'm in Rawcliffe, the thieves usually come over from Clifton way.

It's a Scott Timber, purple with red/white decals. Got mudguards and a pannier rack on back, with a thin cable lock twisted around it. Had a (decent ) head torch twisted onto the bars as a headlight, cat eye rear light.

Got a 'cycle heaven' sticker on the frame (bike shop in south bank i bought it from.)

Bizarrely I have no pics of it, this is the same model though, so imagine this as purple!

Totally agree, its the principal of the thing. My bike isn't exactly my pride and joy (as evidenced by the fact thats clarty at the moment.) But it's still mine, I saved up for it, I maintain it - its just mine!

For some selfish turd to think its all right to help themselves makes me very angry. Its one thing to shoplift at tescos, but to steal from an individual, that makes it very personal indeed.

Police are crappy, haven't done anything to get me my bikes back that were taken a couple of months ago.

With any luck whoever took it hasn't taken it far and they'll be seen on it sooner or later. One of mine had made it all of a couple of miles up the road, its not in their possession anymore.

Could you fit a ground anchor in the garden? Strong anchor coupled with an Almax chain should do the job.

my friend had his £1000 bike stolen from his locked garage and the police didnt care, luckily his house insurance covered it.

How much easier is it to make a living from being a criminal.
People slave away with school, college, uni and then a job, get taxed and all that crap and then a criminal can just go to someones house steal a bike sell it and he's on to a winner.
