alternative/custom helmets

now that this cold weather has picked up and the wind is increasing I'm starting to notice the substantial draft hitting my face, even with my visor down. I'm currently wearing a Bell Star helmet (still my first helmet and its done the job so far so don't laugh)

so now maybe now, with christmas lurking, its time for a gear upgrade. anyone got any unique looking helmets to show off?

I dont want to spend hundreds if possible, but if I can find one, I'd like something a bit different.

I already wear my buff round my head and above my mouth and nose (like a balaclava). It's my eyes that are gettin the draft. They're watering at 50mph with my visor down

I can personally recommend the visor seal on the Schuberth S1 but it is a permanently vented helmet due to having such a tight noise reducing neck seal. Thumbs Up

I can recommend Nolan - theres a rubber seal round the visor and two vents that can be open/closed
*however*
the chin strap isn't my favourite part of it - it can be a bit fiddly and feels bulky sometimes, especially if you're wearing extra layers around your neck. Its like the strap you get on ski boots - plastic thing with teeth on it that feed through a clip. The N84 cost me £130.

I have a Caberg V2 which although quite noisy at speed is fairly good at stopping wind going up your face. It also comes with a wind skirt in the box, which I don't even need to use.
I've also found that with any helmet you wear, wearing a balaclava or a cold-killer that goes round your chin will help, just by closing the gap a little bit between your chin and the 'chin-bar' of the helmet.
