After finding out the majority of the fairings on my bike are buggered, I'm going to buy used replacements and repaint them.
Doing it myself, and I fail at this sort of thing, so I'm going for a simple one-colour job with original VFR400 Honda decals in a different colour.
So far the best idea is gloss black with white decals (see similar pic below), with yellow paint and black decals coming second.
What're your ideas?

hmmm.... never seen a single colour 30 I liked.
What do I recommend? Get it done properly or don't bother at all. Home made paint jobs rarely look anything other than shite upon closer inspection, and it won't be too durable.

Yeah, something light, or a strong colour (like orange) - as Craig said the dark colours really show up imperfections badly, black being the worst.
I'm not suggesting you paint it orange tho. |

Well basically, I'm currently the owner of some very scuffed and broken in places (couple of lugs, lower fairing snapped down the middle) set of Smokin' Joe's paintjob fairings.
I want something that looks semi-decent, so I guess the options are:
Buy brand new fairings pre-painted
Buy old fairings that look okay
Buy tatty old fairings and respray
Something else I've not yet thought of
On the lowish budget I have as a 16 year old, I'm not too sure which is the best course of action? |

1. Isn't an option... They don't exist, other than shitty Chinese knock offs and if you can find a full original set it'll probably be more than your bike is worth.
2. Best bet although you'll probably be shocked to discover how much half decent tatty set will be priced ____________________ Current Bikes - Kawasaki ZX-6R (636) | BMW G650GS |

Took me 7 weeks to source the parts for my NC30 - but that was me solely looking for lug-intact, original panels (the paint condition was irrelevant). I think I spent about £275-£300 off Ebay/through forums on just the fairings.
