oh great, so now the chinese are trying to give KTM's a bad name... and its not the engine you need to look out for, it'll be a rebadged KTM one.
just mind out for EVERYTHING else.

I got it for £1300. Top speed of about 70mph max. Quite a high seat though. Very torquey also. I hope it doesn't break either. So far it has been a treat to ride and have and gets plenty of attention from the public.

Looks spot on. As a mechanic I would be tempted to go over every fastener in sight checking they were done up though...

As stated before, look after it service-wise and it should serve you well.

Also, don't know if you've done any off-roading, but you might be able to find offroad wheels that fit, as spares to try some greenlaning. Really teaches you loads about the way your own bike handles, plus some handy skills and techniques which have saved me from many near-crashes.

I reckon it's too costly to get a set of wheels. I am quite happy with these supermoto ones for now.

Thats involves other tests, higher insurance and generally more bother. At 17 i can just hop straight onto a 125 without any hassle. Also it will give me another year of cheap transport, transport i enjoy, transport that i can learn on at a young age,and transport i can use as a temporary/longish term stop gap to save up some cash to take the plunge and get a nice bike and pass my tests, and be able to even think about insurance. Thumbs Up

cheap you say? CG125 is for you, gunna cost me £124 to insure mine TPFT for a year, and with petrol on the raise, it does 100mpg so will see you a good 100 miles before refill. if not more. when i had my 99 it ran rich so didnt do to well but still a good run for cash.

The bike is really nice in general. It starts up very easily each cold morning, handling is superb, brakes are a bit rubbish. I have done 160 miles on a full tank (without using reserve) - there is no fuel gauge! Power comes mostly low down however, it does rev all the way up past 10k and sounds SOOOOO nice!!!!! The ride height is rather high. £1500 https://www.onthewheel.co.uk/
There is a 200 version coming out soon which will be nearer the 33hp

panpan,

Looks pretty smart, the chinese are definitely upping the build quality on some of their fixings (the handlebar clamps and yokes in-particular) and some USD forks. Your tyres are much better suited to the road than mine.

Looks quite different to mine but having stripped mine and become used to the branding of these kinda bikes, what you have is a GY frame and a 156-FMI engine.

With some of the issues I have had with mine over the time I have had it (a seized engine for one thing). I suggest you change the oil -SOON- and keep an eye on the fixings. Otherwise, enjoy! Very Happy

Yeh, thanks I will do. Anyway, I still have about 11 months warranty and the dealer is only 10 minutes away, so hopefully everything will be alright.

I wouldn't consider the above bike over either an RS or NSR! Shocked one of those Chinese 4 strokes will probably do no more than 65mph, in comparison to the RS and NSRs 100mph.
Let's not also forget the guaranteed fact that both the Aprilia and Honda will be a far better bike in terms of build quality as well as hold their value for far longer when you go onto sell the bike.
In my opinion, as a cheap bike the Chinese Supermoto would be good but if you can afford an RS125 or NSR125 they would be far better bikes for you!

dont count on warranty... i got 12 months with my lifan, they always have a 'get out' clause, thats how chinese dealers make money.

mine was apparantly voided when i dropped my bike the first time.

heres the place www.coolmoto.co.uk theyre fucking crooks. id imagine all dealers like this are the same, so be warned. really friendly until you want something from them.

we're currently trying to sort out some way of getting this sorted legally. i met some people at the plymouth megaride this year, all of them reported coolmoto to trading standards, i followed suit... but nothing has been done, so fingers crossed Very Happy
