And now we know why their MotoGP project has had so little success.

Either that or they have a contract with the London Rubber Co for tyres.

All the best

Roll on next year:

1. for my test ride
2. for my pay rise
3. for any bonus I may get

So I can then buy one - though I fear I'll not be able to afford it next year Sad and it will have to be the year after that I get it. Still I'll get my test ride of it next year. Very Happy

I hope that the kwak is as good as it sounds. Over the past years honda, yamaha and suzuki have had the best litre bike and it's about time kawasaki got the crown.

A bloke has a slightly less powerful (11 hp less) pre-production ZX10R and did a standing 1/4 mile in 9.21 seconds at 148mph.

It also does 104 mph in 1st and has reached 183 mph before it ran out of straight at daytona speedway.

The New Yamaha R1 is even quicker just to let you know.

It had an extended swing arm. However 104mph in first gear could be fun Twisted Evil

MCN seem to think it has one of the worst gearboxes they've ever come across in a japanese bike, they should have tried my R6!

If this was in MCN, was this not a supersbike spec blade vs a amost stock zx10?
Or at least a highly tuned one by HRC, while even if the kwak is the better road bike, it's unlikely they'll do so well in racing because they don't devote nearly as much money to it as the HRC gets.

In my honest opinion the R6 gearbox is quality, granted when you first get on one it's a bit on the clunky side, but once you get used to it the gears slip in no problem.

A lot of people who race R6s say the gearbox is good because it very rarely misses gears and handles clutch less shifting well. The best way I've heard it described is - heavy but precise.

Any way back to topic, so when you getting one then G? Rolling Eyes Laughing

G - No mate, I'm talking about the Dunlop tyre tests at Daytona.

Dusty - Don't get me wrong, I think my R6 was a great bike but the gearbox was shite, even after 6k miles it was shite. Honda's not renowned for great boxes but it's miles better than the Yam. They could both learn a thing or two from Aprilia of all people.

The report in MCN was relating to the Daytona tyre test.

The CBR was described as 'AMA superbike spec'; Lap time 1:47.65

The R1 as built to 'Superstock' regulations; Lap time 1:49.50

The ZX10 as 'Road bike with race fairings and slick tyres'; Lap time 1:50.57

The GSXR1000 was as 'Superbike trim'; Lap times 1:49.93

I wanna ZX10! (until I see the rest of the road test reports Smile ).

I bought MCN last night on the way home from work... Shocked shhesh that bike looks quick. They (MCN) reckon it feels even smaller than the ZX6-R with sharper handling to boot. Add to that 181.7bhp and a glorious front end with perfect brakes and you get the impression they like it Very Happy

I read the MCN report and didn't think they raved about it particularly, which is unusual as they usually rave on about any new superbike. Still perfer the looks of the R1, but its about time Kawasaki pulled something out of the bag, they've needed something to compete with the big boys in the litre class for a while now. Don't suppose any of the mags can comment too much at the moment until the group tests start though.

Razz I said I wanted one as soon as I seen it. Seriously though I may be able to get on next year, though realistically looking at my finances now I'm probably going to have to put it off for a year. Sad

I need to come in to lots of money. Sad
