Well this is my first xmas on the road and I can't believe how many police cars there are on the roads. It must have almost tripled today.

This morning I was pulled over by police (for the first time) and they enquired as to a supposed wobbly rear wheel. I assured them that it was a knobbly so could be deceving. (I checked my wheel alignment and bearing play when I got home and it was fine). They then did all the tax/insurance/mot checks over their radios.

Then this afternoon I went past a speed trap. Was doing about 35 in a 30 i think so im hoping I won't get anything in the post over the next few weeks.

Anyone else had any encounters recently?

they could well be. I've decided to give them no excuse to do me for anything so I'm gonna try some sensible speeds on the road over the xmas period.

I saw one today on the motorway hiding, right behind some bushes if we was going at normal motorway speed no way anyone would have seen him. Obviously waiting for a speeder to go pass or having a nap.

I though they weren't suppose to hide?

As far as I know, they can hide all they want. But then it throws the argument that they're doing it for safety and not just revenue straight out of the window! Evil or Very Mad

I got stopped in Pickering for a ''Car Safety Check and Drink Driving campaign'' at the Police Station.

First question ''When was your last alcoholic drink''?

In a smug voice I answered ''1998 when I passed my test''

They then checked the lights and tires.

As it was an anti-Drink Driving campaign, I showed them support for what they were doing. Got a Pen, Leaflet and a Torch Thumbs Up

The Police have definitely stepped up here in East London today, I've seen them locally with their speed traps and saw one squad car parked on the side of the road and the police have literally been waving people to the side of the road where more police cars are parked to do random checks.

I noticed this on Saturday, I thought there had been some sort of huge crash or something but bought the local paper later in the day to read about the random stop checks Cool

Throw away the key once in...!
