Apologies for those who aren't interested, click back on your browsers now.

For those who are still here....I present my new Piaggio MP3 400ie. Just picked it up this lunchtime and I chuffed to bits with it. Been out over the Moors this afternoon and took a quick pic of it. Off out again all day tomorrow I think, need to get it run in so I can thrash it properly!

Nice. What's the ride like? Do you lean in corners like a normal bike?

How do those things handle? I've sat on one before and it was seriously comfy, but I wanna know how they ride Wink.

They handle really well despite being quite heavy and not looking like they should handle at all. They are great through corners as you can take them much quickers as you have a lot more grip and stability with having the 2 front wheels.

I can't get my head round the locking front suspension yet, I can't stop myself from putting my feet down as its un-natural not to try and do it when you come to a halt!

I like it. But what happens when you go over the limit of traction?

and..... why?

Ive always fancied a go on one. They look well fun. I can understand the putting of your feet down being a bit of a head jarr at first.

As for lack of traction. I suppose it would just under steer like a car would? Confused

I imagine it would sort of "drift" a bit like a car before re-gripping. But less chance of a highside when it does due to more stability. However I could see it turning into a hedge seeking missile in that kind of situation anyway if the rider wasn't on the ball.

But in reality, the kind of person who buys one of these is probably not going to be getting their knee down etc and pushing it to its limit all the time.

I'm sure I have seen a pram with the same front wheels as that.
I wouldn't mind having a go on one, you can drift them.

Thats not drifting, merely a rolling burn out.

It would be a tricky thing to wheely as the front end is very heavy.

I went for the 400 over the fugly (Fuoco) as its more practical as it has a 1m long 65 litre cavern under the seat. This is almost as quick and still very practical. I still really like the fuoco though...

That 'quick snap' could grace the front cover of their brochure.

Fair play Dave.

Are their any tuning goodies out for these yet?
I reckon they'd go mad with a few mods.

well....

they are a 3 wheeled scooter, fully automatic, that offers more grip than a bike, and apparently leans as much as a normal bike will in the dry, but in the wet Mr. Green Shocked

The scooter makes no sense to me, but the photo is really nice Mr. Green

I know these things lean, but do they lean enough? On a sportsbike, its actually possible with the right tyres, for a rider to lean far enough over to grind away the bellypan.
From videos on youtube, this thing looks like the amount it leans may be quite limited, erm, probably resulting in understeer Razz
