have you got hot grips? or some way to keep your toes and fingers warm? they are the only things i find hard to keep warm.
if your traveling during daylight you shouldnt have too much trouble with ice.

Should be easy , I went to Plym ages ago on the 1st Jan once , in summer gloves on a naked bike, you just have to stop every hour or so (I stop once on a 300 mile trip).
You have a huge fairing , hand protectors might give you even better endurance. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Piece of cake. Get the "hot hands" wrap-around heaters they are much easier to install and you can remove them for summer riding.
A guy once picked his bike up from my house in Kent at 5pm on a freezing Sunday in January, and rode it directly to Yorkshire.
This was after I fitted a turbocharger to it, and he hadn't rode it before picking it up - 'ard as nails or what? ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Kidney belts are a good investment. But taking them off makes you wanna piss like a racehorse after all the blood comes gushing down. Don't be a bell end like me and race down the motorways because i caught mild pneumonia last christmas/new years when i went from london to eastbourne to brighton back to london in a weekend when it was freezing cold. I was wearing long johns + thermals + leathers + my Textile jacket over my leathers and it was STILL cold. Man, i was doing 80mph-90mph up the M23 from brighton and keeping that speed through the mist because i didn't want to get caught out by the traffic! eastbourne to nw london in 2 hours in the fog! That's foolish, dangerous and not worth the risk. Remember the wind chill - wrap your neck with a buff - or anything that's not too restrictive. It's something of an oversight with most bikers in the winter - i've seen many people even up here without neck warmers!
Motorways have plenty of service stations, but A road's DON'T. Ice normally clears at about 10:30-ish i think. But mind you i'm in edinburgh at the moment by the sea and i've got ice cover 500 yards from the firth of forth at 11am today!
www.bbc.co.uk/weather enter location or waypoints and you're set. It should be fine, i've checked and london is about 8-10 degrees clear skies, high pressure - BUT that's the wrong conditions to ride in - clear skies = more ice on the roads so be particularly weary of that! Don't think because it's sunny, it's cool to unleash 100bhp onto the road!
Well all i can say is that thank god my bike is in the spray shop over christmas and taking the choo choo down to edinburgh. Pneumonia is DEFINATELY something i don't wanna catch again! ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Just did a 20 mile test on the M62, only places that were getting cold were my hands and face, so popped into Hein Gericke and bought myself some Pathan gloves, Neoprene overgloves and a buff.
The jacket I've got is ace, I've not once been cold in it.
I'll be wearing a 2 piece waterproof suit as well so that should keep some badness out
Overtook 2 gritters! Ouch
