Saw in the local park by me( Stat Moores Whiston Merseyside) group of lads on a C reg Blue Suzuki. Looked like the owner had an attempt to streetfighter it a bit. Tidy clean bike. Not sure how long it will be like that though. Called police to let them know details and they are sending someone around to check it out. I just hope that it isn't someones pride and joy that the scrotes are wrecking.

^Rolling Eyes The area he's on about is full of lads on stolen bikes the only type of bikes they actually own are off road crossers not c reg suzukis.. so i'd be almost certain they we're on a stolen bike too.

The probability of kids aged from 12 to 16 using a clean road bike without any damage to it for off road riding and it not being stolen is very slim.
If it isn't stolen then Kids get asked a few questions and they go on their way.
If the bike is stolen then perhaps some guy will get his pride and joy back with as little damage as possible.

On a side note, there is nowhere on merseyside for anyone to ride motorbikes legally off road on public land. So they are doing something naughty.

All I was doing was being a concerened member of the public who has had a number of bikes stolen only to be found wrecked in the same area as these lads were. Perhaps if a few more stood up and were counted the world would be a slightly better place.

Can no one do any good these days without being shitted on? why dont we all fucking give up trying? What about if your bike gets robbed and its seen by another biker or member of the public? Should they not bother? Should they assume its not worth checking out?

We saw some guy riding like a lunatic on a CBR600F with a pillion down country lanes at 90mph+. Now usually i wouldnt be arsed beacuse i like a good hoon, but it was 11 at night, was cold as feck, and his pillion was a bird with jeans and trendy jacket on. He was either pissed or on something. So we called the coppers on him.

More people need to take action against these theiving little scum other wise things will only get worse.

Good call Skudd

I wish someone had done that when my tiny T&G was nicked while chained up outside my house. I also live in Merseyside, I have also called the rozzers Police on some little shits bombing around in either nicked motors or nicked motorbikes.
Ive lived here for over 10 years and i have seen a massive change in Liverpool alone. Its really chilled out here and the stereo-typing that it had was uncalled for in the first place. Liverpool has all the same problems as any other major city in any other country. But it has dealt with it alot better. I still wouldn't leave anything unchained though.

Once again, nice one Skudd. Have a fat dose of karma, but dont spend it all in one shop Wink

Did the police fob you off? Last time i rang the call centre after finding an abandoned GSX600F i ended up talking to a complete idiot. He asked me what colour the bike was, and since it had no fairings on it, i replied "i don't know because the fairings are missing, but the frame is black, and the wheels are gold." The monkey at the desk replied "so that's a black suzuki motorcycle then?", to which i replied "i'm not sure on the colour, but it's a GSX600F" "right, i'll get that recovered then". I bet he didn;t even bother cross-referencing it with any stolen bikes, and to be honest he really didn;t give a shit, and now some poof bugger willl have had to pay a recovery fee.

Nice one for calling it in, but chances are the police can't be arsed with it.

Vigilante mobs are the only way!

Sounds kinda like me, except without the pillion (I sometimes wear a cloth jacket over me riding jacket.

had the same with my CG, found the numberplate and side plastics down a country lane, couldn't get the phone-lady to understand that it wasn't a "red moped" I asked if she wanted the frame number, but she said "no, just the registration" Rolling Eyes

Did the colour of the tank not give you a hint?

And fair play to the guy, he needs to put a colour on his form, and since the only colour you really mentioned was black, I think I'd put that too.

But how many Aussie import GSX600Fs would have been reported stolen in merseyside? All he had to do was cross reference it with the stolen vehicles in the area first. And the tank was similar to that of a RVF - hidden beneath the bodywork. If there had been a VIN stamped around the headstock, i'd have got the owner's details and rang him myself. All that was there was a plate making a reference to Aus, which makes me think it was an import.

the police wont just send out a recovery truck based on the fact that you rang it in, it will go to the loacl polce area and a police offcier will get sent out. It is not the job of the call taker to start cross-referencing databases. It makes me laugh how many people slag off the police based on their own lack of knowledge.

The officer i spoke to clearly said "right, i'll get that recovered then", and the bike was gone within two hours. Secondly, when reporting a missing vehicle it is procedure to ask the owner of the vehicle whether they would like it recovered if it is found, or whether they would like to recover it themselves. With such little attempt made to identify the vehicle and therefore the registered keeper, it makes the question seem a little pointless. A phone call to the DVLA is hardly beyond reason considering the owner will now be getting a bill for over £100. "serve and protect" is largely bollocks these days. The main roles of the police are to control the population and enforce the law.

That is generally what law enforcement agencies are supposed to do these days.

If you called the general number you would not have spoken to an 'officer' you would have spoken to a staff call taker. When they said 'ill get that recovered then' what they really meant was I'll create a job for an officer to get it recovered. This is becasue if the bike cant be identified by registartion then more enquiries would be needed to see if it was stolen as if it was it would be recovered for forensics.

"Secondly, when reporting a missing vehicle it is procedure to ask the owner of the vehicle whether they would like it recovered if it is found, or whether they would like to recover it themselves"

This is not correct, as said above if it is stolen than it will be recovered without asking the owner as it will be taken for forensics. Also if the bike is just reported as dumped and it is on private land than the police wont recover it.

All that saying different police forces will have different procedures, this is how it works where i live. none the less your post is still making large asumptions about what the police would or would not have done without actually knowing. It is like saying "i went to a restaurant and the waiters were not very freindly, they probalby spat in my food, dont go to that restaurant becasue they spit in your food"

Probably some dude giving his bird a quick thrill or travelling between his/hers etc, the list goes on.
