Really pisses me off.

I mean, when you say biker, people automatically think of a fat geezer on a Harley with a Cat hanging from his chin.

Or people who say you're not a true biker unless you ride through the wind/shite/snow. That's also a load of bollocks, i'd rather turn up at work warm and dry than walk in like a drowned rat in front of all the totty at work.

Personally, i don't class myself as a "biker" (even though i've been around them all my life) , but someone who just loves bikes, and rides em. I hate the whole "live to ride, ride to live" shite, it makes me laugh my tits off when i see someone with it plastered all over their back.

What's everyone elses opinion?

For many 'bikers', the word means 'person that enjoys bikes for the same reasons I do'.

A lot will say that includes a lot of areas that they don't enjoy, but they will still usually not include certain areas they don't approve of so much.

I ride a bike therefore I am a biker Wink

Unlike the people on Visor Down who only know the theory of riding.

well a biker is someone who rides something on 2 wheels. But the people who i respect are the people who have a real passion for bikes, its their main hobby, they buy all the mags visit the forum's, etc. and of course they have to actually ride the bike, whenever they can or want to regardless of whatever else is happening.

Not when that same totty says "Do you want to warm your hands up Wink "

Get far more smiles from them when in bike gear than when you walk in, in normal gear. Karma

A biker is precisely that. A person who rides a bike.

now there are different classifications if you want to break it down.....

The dry weather biker.
The All Weather Biker.
The Weekend Only Biker.
The commuter.
The lone biker.
The Club Biker
The group biker
The Harley Riders

We all have bikes, we All enjoy bikes.

Some ride more than others.

Personally myself. I ride when I can. If its slightly wet I'll use the bike unless there is some other reason governing the fact I need to use the car, sometimes it just isn't convienient to use the bike.

I'll go camping on the bike, I'll ride in a group. I'll go for a blast on my own. Whatever the mood is at the time. i live for my bikes, I live for my cars. Got nothing else so why not, and tbh the bikers I know/hangout with/party with are probably the best and most reliable people I know.

For some of us it is a way of life, for others its not.

If anyone disagrees with anything I say thats fine, its thier opinion.

Ride with a Club ride by yourself, it doesn't matter, just get out there and enjoy it.

I own all sorts of bikes from a '84 GS550 up to a Ducati 996 with a couple of Harleys and other cruisers in there. I go out when I want to irrespective of the weather, sometimes with people other times by myself. Sometimes I use my car, because I can. I have an IAM certificate and have been banned twice for all sorts including no insurance, tax, speeding etc.

You can call me a poser, biker or c**k s**king gay boy, I really don't care.

The problem is that some people can't cope if they don't have some tag to belong to. Others just get on with it.
