So i bought some Oxford Muffs, and found them to be an utterly useless fit, couldn't put them on without them getting in the way of the controls.
So i took them back and got a refund... And ended up leaving with a pair of HotHands.
They're like HotGrips, but they velcro round ontop of the grip...
So, got them all wired up, had the bike ticking over. hey work really nicely, get quit hot rather quickly, bike didn't seem to have any trouble powering them at all (CBR125)
Now afer this initial test i had to actually route all the cables...
Well fuck, that was the biggest pain in the ass ever... The main problem being that there is MILES of wires... Wth he cables need to be that long i cannot even start to imagine...
I did a bit of looking around on the net and saw that some guy had the clever idea of wrapping the excess wiring around and around the bar.... Why i didn't hink of this i dunno, but it worked great, and i ended up using some zip ties to attach the switch to the top yoke... Took me far longer than it should of to get it all done, but got there in the end
They do make the bars rather chunky, and i've not tryed riding with them yet. Will have to see how it goes on the ride to and from work tomorrow, and then decide if i should keep them on for the 106 miles down to Swindon.
So actually hooking up th electrics? Peice of cake. Hiding the wires and mounting the swich? Utter ball-ache.
Ride safe. ____________________

I'd have just looped the wire around itself and zip tied it together, then tucked it away somewhere near the connecting end. |

The cable between the battery and the switch is long enough to be useful, but not so long it gets in thw way.
The wires between the switch and the grips however.... are about 60cm long....In practice they need to be about 20cm at the *MOST*.
Also, will henceforth refer to them as "HotShits". Absolutely useless... They heat up alright, but the lack of temp control means your hands are either being burned, or are just as cold as usual... And they make the grips too chunky to be comfortable. It's made worse by the fact that the material they are made of is kinda spongy. So yeah, will be returning those.
So yeah, if you want warm hands, get proper heated grips! ____________________

I wear XS gloves, no amount of riding is gonna get me used to them ;]
it wasn't just the size, it was also the fact that they are kinda spongy... feels horrible, like i havn't got a proper hold on the bars. ____________________
