digi cam help

right, im gonna grab meself a compact digi cam for newyears and for generally messing about on, as my 400d isnt the sorta thing to take on the piss.
i need some help, i have no clue about these. i have max, £150.

from what ive heard, this face recognition thing would be useful, as it will be pretty much all people.

i remember an advert, with a cam in, and some nuns, and the leaning tower of pisa....i seemed to fall into the trap of the advertisment.

The ad was for a Lumix of some sort, the range seems to get good reviews, i have the Fz7 for which i have no qualms.

Exilim's are nice and slim so not a pain to carry around.

Sony cybershot ones tend to be quite good, my stepmum has one - easy to use and quality is good, built with a carl zeiss lense.

150 will get you a pretty decent cam, remember though not to go too high on the pixel count because the ccd's in compacts cant cope.

I bought a Nikon L2 for the same reason as you not long ago, have to say i'm satisfied with it and its pretty inexpensive too.

cheers fella. decided to go for the ixus 75 from canon. everything i want, for about the right price. and not a bad review about it. only thing thats been said is its slightly bigger then some of the others, but coming from a dslr, i dont think itll matter.
