well, one hath just aquired such a lid as this, which one thinks is rather fucking sexful...
https://aycu09.webshots.com/image/39288/2003442470415706220_rs.jpg

now, one is also considering one of these badass visors...

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MARUSHIN-SILVER-MIRROR-VISOR_W0QQitemZ300184158989QQihZ020QQcategoryZ46168QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

i know theyre 'illegal' apparantly, but the worst they can do is make me swap it over, so ill keep the clear one in the underseat storage, im on a SRAD so ive got enough room to smuggle a family of ethiopians under there. 1 visor wont matter.

the question is this. is the visor really worth £33? seems a bit much to me.
anyone able to find me a cheaper one?

cheers visor queers xxx

For a start, dont put a spacker title Wink

The silver(iriduim?) visors do tend to scratch really easily and the most the police can do is fine you 30 quid i think.

Is it worth paying 33 quid to you?

Problem with mirror finish is it chips just as easy as iridium in most cases.

Your better off getting a dark smoke/black.

cant find a dark one, seems they only do clear, mirrored and irid.

what i mean is, is £33 about right for a visor?

Its worth paying £33 for a dark visor of some sort at this time of the year, low sun and all that. Personaly I think iridium and other similar finishes look gash, tinted however looks acceptable.

Salt fucks metalic visors too. If you don't ride on the brighter winter days you'll be fine, but if you do and it picks up any spray the finish will corrode before you very eyes. I've lost a couple that way. Black is the easycare option, and I reckon it'd look great with that lid.

I was looking at that brand of lids in J&S today in leeds.

The carbon one particular, was very nice indeed (much lighter than the HJC carbon) but my nose touched the 'chin bar' thingy Confused

Not as bad as the nolan lids, i could kiss that one!

Went for a arai condor instead.

Speaking of which (sorry for the thread hijack), on a plain silver arai would you go for a silver irid/mirrored or a dark tint?

Bearing in mind it won't be used in winter (clear visor and hyperoptiks insert for winter).

I am thinkin a silver irid visor would look the muts furry nuts but i don't know about the dark Confused

I ordered 2 sets of "trackday tint" insert things from Visorshop.com about 3 weeks ago, not come yet but I'm hoping they're of decent quality, only cost a tenner a pair. Thumbs Up

Get a visor bag thinger, lets you wear the visor under your jacket in a beltlike arrangement around your stomach. I got one free with my Arai visor from visorshop.

£33 is middle ground for a visor, perfectly fair price for a mirror finish one imho.

As for getting stopped over it, I wouldn't sweat it as long as your not being a muppet. I'm yet to ever get shit for my visor, ridden past police cars/bikes, even stopped to talk to officers at a bike crash during the summer with it on and they didn't bat an eyelid at it, it's good ammo for them to get at you though so don't take the piss too much Wink

Do NOT buy an iridium visor. I was given one over the summer as a gift, and they are so hard to keep scratch-free it's stupid. You can't even wipe the bugs off with your glove in case you feck up the coating - it's a joke considering how much they cost. The tiny scratches don't look too bad from the outside, but once you've got it on you can notice the white lines really easily and it's quite distracting.

The next one for me will DEFINITELY be a black one - you can't ruin the "blackness" with scratches!

£33 seems reasonable. My Arai iridium visor was £50. Havnt scratched mine at all... I used it for 2 weeks, then winter came
