I can only assume it was part of the fairing or air induction that was hit by the piston which then hit him? I'm not really sure but either way it looked like it hurt Shocked

It's not his hand, it's part of the ramair housing. It's not a piston giving out either, it's a nitrous backfire. The guy's name is Brock Davidson. And Google is my friend.... Smile

AFAIK a piston at full revs is only doing like 200mph? Nowhere near fast enough to fly out of an engine.

Still looks pretty scary though Shocked and it really does look like he lost a hand, though I dont think he did.

200mph? I bet it is doing a lot more.

Well correct me if i am wrong but if that engine was doing 15k revs then it would be doing 250 revs per second?!

Hmm from info I'm getting, a 'busas stroke is 63mm, thus roughly if its doing 15k, then thats 15000rpm X 63mm = 945000mm/min or 945M/min or 15.75M/S which is 35.23MpH.

So not really going all that fast.

My math is made of fail btw.
