Who owns one?

I do and for the first time in my life I listen to radio for pleasure and not just cause it is all I have got in the car.

There are so many stations on it, that there is pretty much a station for every taste in music and loads of just chat stations.

Obviously the digital sound quality makes it a more bearable experience now.

I don't think I could get to sleep anymore with having my radio on 60 minute sleep timer whilst dozing away to "Chill Radio's - Dream time". Laughing

Not got one and dont really intend on doing at the moment.

I tend to listen to CD's in the car and get quite a lot of digital stations via Sky if I do want to listen to the radio at home which to be honest is very rare.

I love my digital radio, especially because the signal for normal radio is so poor near me (despite living at the top of a great big hill) Smile

I have The Jazz, Planet Rock, I can actually pick up Kerrang on it, wonderful! As soon as I get home the radio goes on in the kitchen while I am pottering around cooking. I have one in my bedroom that wakes me up with Radio 4.

How many stations do you pick up?

In Coventry I get 65 stations, but back in Somerset only 11. Laughing

Yeah I've had one in my car now for about 2 1/2 years I reckon. I can't get enough of Planet Rock - Alice Cooper is the funniest bloke on radio full stop. His music is crap, but his links are so funny.... And Rick's place on Saturdays is pretty cool at times too.

I don't lose coverage very often, but it's normally south of Somerset when it happens. Or perhaps Hampshire in the valleys...

I think the DAB system is changing in 2009 though, making some equipment obsolete. I'm hoping mine will be ok, as it's got a card reader, cd changer inputs, car phone input and the like and I don't reckon I'll get something else that 'feels' as good to use again.

I just bought a sound system for my mum's birthday this week, and it has a DAB radio. Must say I'm impressed with the quality and ease, but there's only about 10 stations up here in Northampton at the mo - apparently they've only just granted the licence in the area and they won't be transmitting local stations until April.

Either way, I'd recommend one Smile

I've got 3. One at home, one at our caravan and one in the car. Someone at work had planet rock on one day and I loved it so I bought an intempo BB-01 for the caravan because I thought it would be better that sitting watching shite on the tv just for the sake of it.

https://images.ciao.com/iuk/images/products/normal/001/product-6506001.jpg

After listening to that last summer when the caravan season ended and we were stuck at home I was missing my radio so I bought another. Nothing special, just a cheap matsui thing.
When I had my accident in April I was on total bed rest for weeks I couldn't cope with light so the tv and reading were both out. The dab radio is the only thing that kept me sane!.

My 3rd dab is an in car adapter. I bought an accoustic solutions ics100

Its a great piece of kit. Connects via your existing aerial socket or AUX input. The dab antenna sticks onto your windscreen so you dont need to drill any holes. They're £139 inc fitting, but I bought mine for £50 and fitted it myself without any major problems.

Just bought another as a christmas pressie for my brother and his wife.

We've got a couple now, one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen we'll gradually replace the others with DAB over the next few years. The TV will be the last to go digital, and honestly if I miss the deadline I couldn't care less, the radio is still more useful.

Oh and yes I lurve The Jazz aswell Thumbs Up

Just looking at another dab now. The matsui one we use at home is a little on the quiet side for our large front room. I was in comet yesterday and saw a Pure evoke 3. Looks a great piece of kit. You can pause and rewind live radio, save to an sd card, plus a host of other stuff.

I'm looking for a small DAB radio for on the bike. How good are they for keeping a signal while on the move?

Jon,

I know you're a bit of a Vista fan so I thought this might be useful to you and other without a radio.

The dab adaptor I have in the car is good most of the time, but dire in some areas. It works pretty well round here (Oldham) and it works well round staffordshire where I have a static caravan, but it doesn't work very well going through derbyshire.
You can check your postcode Here to see what the signal is like.
