It's an hour and a half until we bring in the new year over here in NZ and I'm sitting on my fat ass on my laptop in my room knocking back shots whilst my parents get drunk and make a pavlova.

We usually go down to the beach and spend a week or so there with most of the family and see the new year in with a shit load of other drunkards in a beachy campsite. There is fire, pizza, and beer! We're not even going to the countdown in Palmy this time.

Bah, ah well, fuck it. I'll be back home for the next one at least thank fuck. God I can't wait to get back.

At work till five. then home for a shower, meeting friends in town for six... all back to my place for around 10ish party till whenever... got a lift to forest match with my son on N-Y-D. we're of for a meal in Nottingham first then watch match. so looking forward to the next 24 hours.

When I moved into my new pad 22 October, I promised to myself I'd have the bedroom unpacked by the end of the year. I haven't started yet, so that's what I'll be doing. Have to really, as in my new job, we've got a formal dress code, so I need to dig out my work shirts and suits.

I'll also find the time to chat with my other Ducati distracted friends, finish a bottle of rather nice Amarone and the box of chocolates I got for Xmas from a Secret Santa.

New Year's is even more bah humbug than Christmas, as far as I'm concerned!

New Year doesn't really mean much to me anymore. I only really celebrated it when I was about 16-21 (getting tickets for good parties and getting bladdered!), after which I had my daughter and couldn't be bothered. I am too old to party now My knees hurt

So this year I shall be trying to find something decent to watch on tv, as usual. May get a DVD out. That 'Knocked Up' looks good

Well feel pity for me then. I got talking to an old mate i hadnt seen in a fair few years, and he got talkign about raves, and i said id fancy hitting a proper hardcore one.
Turns out he organises the rigging/lighting etc, and reckoned he could sneak me in for free. And reckoned he could get drugs easily, so i was hoping he'd get me a half ounce of base as it would be half decent quality from london.

That was a week ago, i got in contact with him once and stupidly ended the call about quickly as i wasnt certain when id have money.
Since then i've phoned every day several times from several numbers, and texted, and the wee bugger hasnt picked up or phoned back. So i've been in limbo waiting, and now have no plans and no base to bring up to uni as the guy selling substandard base got turned over.

I was expecting a 24 hour party, fuckload of drugs, and the chance to bring back a fear and loathing-esque bag of drugs to uni.

Now i have a few very poor choices of evenings

Contemplating going to the off license and Guinness have sent me more vouchers for free beer thats 9 cans already! but cant complain I dont drink the stuff but wont be to waste. Maybe get some more booze and sit in as everyone I know is working or going out and £10 will not get me far on a night out. Bottle of vodka maybe.

I'll try to stay up to see in the new year as I'll be glad to see the back of 07. No doubt i'll be kept awake til 5 by morons shouting in the street and the now mandatory firework barrage.
