Just thought I would ask people what they bought. what they paid and why they bought it.

Find it interesting.

I bought a Shoei Raid II - Probably bad reasons first, I had heard of Shoei and seen people in magazines wearing them.

Mainly really good fit. I was going to buy a HJC at £129 down from £150 but I figured I should plump for the Shoei if it fit as you only get one head for shame!

HJC CL-SP "Phoenix"

https://img234.imageshack.us/img234/4808/1000558smallva8.jpg

Great lid to replace my shark with. I had a HJC before and had a hard smash and it held up really well.

I like the looks the weight and lining. One problem I have with it is the damn strap sometimes it gets crossed over when putting it through the d-rings and makes it hard getting it off Laughing

Apart from that solid lid.

Also have a tinted visor.

Takachi T36

Bought it as I would be testing a bike the next day and previously sold my V2 earlier in the year. It was cheap and fitted (18 months ago anyways) and being grey and white pretty neutral and boring.

I do need a new lid as it doesn't really match my leathers. Laughing

Arai Chaser Camo Blue

fits me very well, comfy helmet, like the paint job, good price.

And it held up well in my recent accident.

Both for pretty much the same reason - fit and feel.

The Arai is just quality throughout, complete Arai fan having own other makes and cheaper Arais. The Dixon is a brand I'd never heard of but meets the same EC and ACU tests (although I'm sure the Arai will exceed them), fits well, is surprisingly well made and cost a tenth of what the Arai cost.

Shoe Raid II Nucleus

https://www.helmets4u.co.uk/images/RAID2%20NUCLEUS%20TC-1.jpg

I got it because it fitted the best out of all the helmets I tried on. If they had a helmet that had a penis painted on it that fitted better I'd have bought that instead Thumbs Up (and had it sprayed afterwards Laughing)

It was in the J&S Half Price water damaged sale though. No way would I have payed the full £280 for it.

Hi

Shoei Raid. Because it fits. Never found a lid that I am 100% happy with the fit of, but the Shoeis seem to be best so far.

All the best

Keith

OGK aeroblade 2 - It's comfy, pretty light and I really really like the shape. Plus it doesn't look too bad for a plain white helmet.

Shoei XR1000 Diabolica. had it a few years now and cost £330. Got it because I wanted something radical in a conservative, grown up way.

I'm on my second Arai, a gunmetal Quantum F. Because if Carlsberg made a crash helmet, it probably wouldn't be the best crash helmet in the World, because Arai already have that covered.

(pardon, sorry, I've been deaf for the last 3 years, you'll have to argue louder).
