anyway...... soz Iv'e not been back to you on Germany, I'll check if there is still places left today as I'm going on the Brass Monkey run with the SOC today who have arranged the trip.

ps we leave for Germany on 14th June for a week, catch you later Thumbs Up

I'd go for Scotland as its closer and i've not been there for few years! Not a big fan of cornwall. I'll try to get to either (dependant on my bike, of course)...

i can drag few non-forum biking mates up, not sure they would go for cornwall, will see!

Im planing few trips to egypt/scotland and europe in the summer. I'll try avoid booking anything big in August!

Cornwall is a much better bet than Scotland imo. There will be holiday traffic going anywhere that attracts a lot of tourists.

Would love to go on this.
Depends on bike though as only got a 125 at the mo, hoping to upgrade early this year, but depends on funding. Smile

I'll take riding through empty twisties beside mountains and lochs over hours of lane-splitting on the A30 just to sit on a beach anyday.

Noone will go if it's in Cornwall. I wouldn't want to ride my bike from London to Cornwall, let alone further North.

Somewhere central in the country makes a hell of a lot more sense, surely.

Yeah, but Birmingham doesn't quite have the same feel does it Smile
And Matlock and North Wales have already been done. They are pretty central for the British Isles.

Remember, Londoners aren't the be all and end all Smile

And yeah - I definitely think Scotland is a good choice! Some excellent roads and the scenery is WOW! Also so many islands that you can drive on with open roads, less coppers than Cornwall (if we were to ride to the 'desolate' parts) and not having to dodge through caravans make it a much more attractive proposition in my eyes!

And to those for whom it is a long ride away - I'm sure large groups from SE, SW, Midlands could group up at major motorway junctions and ride up the motorways in a big posse. At some stage you've GOT to ride Scotland (me included!) and there's no better time than the current.

if it was a weekend in Cornwall I'd go but stay longer to make it more worth while.

Same with Scotland, although if it was south of Fort William I would just do a weekend.

Scotland for me. Cool

I'd especially be interested in early July, when there is a rally I fancy in West Lothian. Thumbs Up But anytime is cool.

Scotland sounds interesting. In a B&B preferably.

As long as I have 2 months prior notice, I should be able to get time off work sorted.

Camping. Isle of Tiree.

They wouldn't know what's hit 'em. We could use the island like a race circuit. There's one copper on the Island, nuff said. Me and missus Shand went a few years ago, amazing place.

May get chased about with pitchforks, though.

Now, I'm going to sound like a killjoy here but this will never be a big meet. A quarter of those who say they will turn up actually will.

Why don't you meet at one of the big bike rallies. That way when only 3 people show up it won't be such a bad thing as you'll have plenty of stuff to do?

Hmm I have been to a similar forum meet where 60% or so who said they where coming did.

90 put there name down and 60 or showed up. Was good fun.

If it is talked up enough etc it will should get enough people

To be fair, I was sceptical (possibly missing the target for the stereotype I was assigning to the organiser Smile ) about the one held in 2007, but they did manage to get quite a lot of people together.

Now that lots more people are getting into getting muddy (and I've found out I can handle gentle green lanes at the mo), I reckon there's definite scope for organising a muddy contigent.

If this does go ahead and I can attend, I'd be happy to put a little organisation effort into a muddy side.
However, I personally think it'd have to be somewhere central-ish. As we can see, people seem to want either end and some may not come if it's central; but I bet those voting CCornwall won't turn up to Scotland and visa-versa.
